I think the value will be sitting in on practices, film sessions, getting to know players, etc…he can still do some coaching in the practices as well.

So he doesn’t have to coach the game to get what he really wants which is to evaluate the talent.

Hope LSU fans travel well for this game because it may be a couple years before they get a chance to go to a bowl again.

asking the question isn't really worrying about it. I am curious myself why wouldn't he coach.

Lane Kiffin is the new purple and gold court jester.

So he's been a jester at TN, USC, bama, om and now LSU.... cool.

Well, not a whole lot you can install in that short time frame but IMO, why start your time at LSU in a bowl game? BK didn't coach the bowl game when he took over. Where you curious then or only now because of the coach?

I am not saying it doesn't exist, but do you have an example of a coach starting at a new school as the head coach and coaching his new team in a bowl game?

I don’t know how to explain that contrary to the pervasive TigerRant belief that all other SEC fans are worried or jealous

It's called projection.

LSU fanbase is always worried and always jealous of Bama and Georgia.

Therefore they assume everyone else suffers with the same.

We call this projection. When it comes to actions vs emotions, it's called wish-casting.

Not really i don't supposed. I would assume he will at least be on the sidelines though? I think LSU fans would want to see that.

I think most of them just stay in a suite or whatever. I know that's what BK did. I can't remember way back when Miles took over for Saban.

We’re letting our running backs coach be the head coach of the tigers through their bowl game.

Least we could do for lil bro.

Ole Miss matched what LSU was offering Kiffin and he still said no thanks.

That's what your program is worth.

Its going to take awhile for that realization to sink in for your younger fans, but the old ones already know. That's why they're so angry.

Imagine posting something like this in this fricking thread.

Probably because he doesn’t want the absolute stink of this team on his hands but also because he doesn’t want to tarnish his record right out the gate he’ll lose 4 next year instead.

When EdO was fired OL coach Brad Davis took over as interim and coached the bowl game. He was the ONLY coach Kelly retained.

New coaching hires NEVER coach the bowl game if said team is bowl eligible.

To be honest, he's above the Texas bowl. He'll be there - in a suite, evaluating. That's what he's being paid to do and that's what every LSU fan wants him to do. I'm certain he's been at practice and is working on building his team for next year.

What truth?

You are an Alabama fan claiming that LSU is projecting in a thread about LSU that was started by an Alabama fan.

The 2019 team had a buffoon coaching. Lane is a genius. The roster may not be more talented, but the team altogether will be great.
