I like playing all of the schools and visiting all of the stadiums in a shorter time frame. Playing at a stadium in the other division once every 12 years doesn't work for me.

In exchange for a bigger contract, ESPN will require a more unique inventory of games to show. If you put Texas and Oklahoma in a West division, depending on permanent opponents, it could take them 9 to 10 years before they play Georgia and Florida. ESPN will want these marquee match ups to happen much quicker and more often in order to provide compelling reason for more viewers.

That's certainly a claim that some have made but an aggregate system can fix a tie-breaker. My guess is that you would prioritize it like this:
1.) Result of head-to-head matchup.
2.) Record against common opponents.
3.) Point difference between common opponents.
4.) AP or CFP rankings.
I wasn't talking about the logistics of determining champ game participants. I was talking about NCAA rules regarding conf. champ games. But then again, I think the Big 12 hasn't had divisions for a minute but they have still had a CCG?

Pods give the chance for each student athlete a chance to play against every other SEC school since they would be on a 4 year rotation.
Can you imagine superstars like Waddle or D. Smith never getting a chance to play say LSU or Texas. That would be a shame. For that reason alone pods is superior to divisions.
We can have North/South/East/West pods and it would all make sense.

With a 12-team playoff possibly coming soon, I wonder if the SEC is considering moving to a 10-game conference schedule.
We had a dry run of a 10-game schedule this past year, and it went fine.
With a 10-game schedule, you could keep the two divisions and also have a decent rotating schedule. They could even keep permanent cross-division opponents and make it work.

Then you want pod/group/quadrant scheduling & NOT divisions.

Depends on what you do with pods. If you're going by ESPN's example, you're putting DSOR as every OTHER year.

4 names AGAINST this:
Georgia
Florida
South Carolina
Kentucky
All have in-state rivals that are played annual. Therefore, 12 schools will have 2 slots to play anybody they want while these 4 will only get 1.
BTW, these 4 games DIDN'T get played (& don't think those 8 teams aren't mad about it).

Oh no, there would be schedule requirements out of conference. Whether that be no FCS games or at least one Power 5 opponent... something.

Because Pods Kick arse!
(with 2 perms on top - otherwise they suck)
Play your Pod: 3 Games
Play Perm: 2 Games
Rotation: 4 OR 5 Games
Play all Rivalry Games.
Play all Teams 2x every 4 years with a 10 game schedule.
Play all Teams 2x every 5 years with a 9 game schedule.

10 game SEC Schedule.
I'm a fan of good OOC games. So much fun to see other teams and schools.
I prefer 9 conference games and two OOC P5/4 games with one patsy. Prefer the patsy to be an in-state school.

Play 10 SEC games! that way you get to play others a lot more. 7 games for the division, 3 crossover. if you want tp push for 11 SEC games I am fine with that. 4 crossovers. That is best one of all.

I believe that's easy for us!
in-state patsy school: Ga. Tech

The people who want pods want it slanted to them having the easy pod, like UK being paired with Missouri, UT and Vandy.
That would not happen in the pod environment.

Or you just say every team has to play one Power 5 opponent, and it's a non issue.
