When you ask anyone outside of the south what they think a person from Mississippi is, they think fat, stupid, poor and racist.

To be fair, most southerners think of Mississippi that way as well.
Most educated southerners think of uneducated southerners that way too.
BTW, being a racist is not the sole domain of the fat, stupid and poor. (Not by a long shot) Just as California and the Northeast USA are not the sole domain of bleeding heart Liberals.

DCrebel, what you have been saying is some of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent responses were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this rant is now dumber for having listened to yout. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Our fans who think doing away with Colonel Reb is going to bring Ole Miss an SEC championship are being hopelessly naive at best, and at worst, disingenuous. The collapse of Ole Miss football started in the 1970's and, unfortunately, has never recovered. Thanks to several incompetent leaders like Porter Fortune and Gerald Turner, the other SEC schools made massive improvements to their athletics infrastructure while Ole Miss sat idly by.
Blaming the shortcomings of our athletics programs on Colonel Reb is the biggest crock of shite that has ever been told.

I just don't get the black bear, maybe if there was an old story behind it people would leave the issue alone. I miss the Colonel.
Of course, I don't know how the Washington Redskins get away with their mascot and helmet emblem. Maybe I'll rename the Atlanta Falcons the Atlanta Whiteskins and put a picture of Conan on the helmets.
America is funny about the fights we choose to pick.

You don't even have an original comeback. You're something else, you know that?

Get. It. Through. Your. Thick. Skull. That. This. Is. Not. Entirely. About. Athletics.
It has more to do with academics than it does athletics. How so many of our fans somehow miss that is so damned frustrating.

This.
And we aren't saying that getting rid of Col. Reb will bring an automatic SEC championship. What we ARE saying is that it creates a much easier road for us with all of the negative recruiting that's going on.

Right. All of those alumni that are going to be donating because we have a new mascot. I anxiously await my next newsletter from the University of Mississippi Foundation confirming this claim.
You're the one that claims the reason we didn't have a PBK chapter was because of the rebel flag, right?

You don't comprehend very well. We can't help you if all that you do is twist what we say to make it outlandish.
Tell ya what....you keep whining and moaning about not having Col. Rebel on the sidelines and we.....well...we won't and we'll be the much happier party.

It's not just alumni, numbnuts. It's foundations and corporations, such as FedEx (built the new academic support building), Toyota (gave some money for the new engineering thing that's being built by the observatory), the Bancroft Fund (Croft Institute), Netscape (Honors College), et cetera.
And if you don't wanna believe the last part then fine, shove your fat fricking head deep in the sand until it covers your fat fricking neck all the way to your collarbones for all I care, because it's the Goddamn truth.
ETA: I mean, do you think it's just some magnificient coincidence that the things we brag about and use to maintain our flagship status (suck it, State)...things like the Honors College, Croft Inst., PBK, Residential Colleges, Leadership Inst., Thad Cochran Center, et cetera et al...were ALL formed, built, or expanded sometime in the last 15 years or so?

The Colonel is gone. I'm more pissed that our Chancellor banned "From Dixie With Love". All that did was bring the KKK to campus. No one gave a shite about the damn chant you students were saying. Do you think the band playing "From Dixie With Love" OR is the KKK being on campus a worse hit to our PR? Because,no matter how many times you try to explain to people the KKK situation they're not going to listen.

Example A was brought on by Example B.
And yes....People did care about what some students(and Alumni) were chanting. Thanks for the blanket accusation that all(and only) students were chanting it though. Profiling is bad....mmkay?

You're trying to hold him accountable for a nearly impossible to forsee and entirely unintended consequence of a decision he made. That's absurd.

Dan Jones is an easy target to blame all of our problems that have been in place since long before he came on here. And I don't even know why people are even pissed at him....They need to be pissed at Khayat. Dan Jones is only his puppet.

And this is why I see it has hurting the WHOLE state of Mississippi. It affects whether or not business or industry comes to MS. It affects tourism like whether the NCAA wants to host a tourney. Honestly, frick ole miss but people will associate the university with the state right or wrong.
