Why not move the SEC Championship back another week or two?

Give yourself an additional few weeks to makeup games, everyone could play their full 10 game schedule easily.

Seems like the easiest solution and gives you the maximum flexibility the rest of the way.

Agree with this. Especially since the other conferences will still be playing

It’s 12/19. Playoffs 1/1. You can’t unless playoffs are moved. They didn’t want to move it for big ten why would they accommodate sec

No time unless they move the playoffs back too

That will probably happen.

But in the meantime, the Alabama sobbing is entertaining.

Because the CFP won't move. They honestly should at this point. The Big10 is already getting boned by their 21-day contact tracing protocols. Hell, Wisconsin may not play another game at this rate

I think they should move the CFP back two weeks and just deal with it being during the NFL playoffs. Or, they are going to have to accept that they may be choosing between teams, within the same conference, who may have played two fewer games than others. We're only halfway through the season and there are teams who have already had two games postoponed due to COVID just in this conference. Wisconsin has only played 1 game. Baylor has had 3 games postponed. At a certain point, I think it's inevitable everyone has a game postponed or cancelled. We've had one likely playoff team in Alabama. Wait until OSU faces this with no buffer week to make the game up. Seems like these postponements are only going to accelerate based on what we're seeing.

The CFP couldn't move it if they wanted to unless they moved one of the semifinals from the Rose Bowl. They play THEIR game on 1/1 come hell or high water. Never on Sunday. 1/1/2021 is not on Sunday.

The Masters is being played in November this year. The Rose Bowl can get over themselves if necessary

Makes too much sense, so won't happen

If the Rose Bowl is unwilling to move this year of all years, they should be cut out of the playoffs because they are a bad faith actor you don't want to be involved with.

It's not just the Rose Bowl, what about the Sugar Bowl? Move that back a few weeks and Saints are hosting a playoff game that weekend?

And I'm sure the CFP has no problem refunding Disney a quarter of billion (half the annually take) for not playing the games on New Year's Day when they can maximum ratings. Instead they are going up against the NFL playoffs.

I have no problem with this. Just move the game back a week and it would be fine.

With 2020 being a year of craziness, don't be surprised if Ole Miss/LSU is moved to conference championship Saturday on December 19, 11am kickoff.
Bama/LSU played on December 5.
