Because no one is expecting Notre Dame to make a game of it, despite their ranking.
No one knew how the Texas vs LSU game was going to go, so it was interesting. Held some intrigue.

It was a 1 point game when they played in 2017. You are right that it is not getting the attention it probably deserves. Might be a really good game.

Because TX fans are desperate ot say they're back so the game was hyped as their return to prominence. ND was in the playoff last year, so it's just a big game. Both teams know they are good

Then they don't... Neither UGA nor ND has played anyone yet. I don't see UGA blowing out ND, but I tend to bet conservative with my teams anyway. Spread is UGA -14 and I would be surprised if they cover.

The LSU game was hyped by ESPN to promote Texas because they are contractually obligated to do so. It’s written into the LHN contract.

I think it’s because everyone saw the game last year in South Bend and saw ND lose. If they’d have won it would hyped as revenge game back home in Athens.
Also, you are not competing for many of the same kids in recruiting and geographically the distance doesn’t make for some great rivalry to develop.LSU and Texas alums cross paths in that part of the world daily making it a border war.

UGA will skull frick ND. ND hasn’t been a force since like ‘06. And LSU spanked them that year.

Well KSTATE won the game and they earned it but they hardly skull dragged us.
