Degrees?
You don’t follow MSU because you have to have something to break up the monotony of working at the mill or have something to brag to your brother in law about. It’s because people actually attended school there.
Unlike the shovel wielding east MS folks who scraped off their LSU stickers in 2008 and stuck on their Bama stickers.

I knew a guy who had a wall display of his cowbells and said each one was for a different team/situation (egg bowl one being the biggest). Never even thought to ask him where he got them.

Honestly, State is not very good right now. Their strengths (few that they are) play right into the Dawgs' favor.
If you guys had no real trouble with Tennessee (and you didn't last Saturday), you'll have no issue with State.
We played a bad against them and still beat them 30-6.
I'm willing to give the Dawgs a mulligan for most anything but if you guys can't beat State, you don't deserve the SEC CG or the playoffs

Why do grown men bark at other grown men?

I watched a little of the MSU Auburn game Saturday and it looks like they have to stop clanky the cowbells when there are 10 seconds left on the play clock, much like a band has to stop playing music at the 10 second mark. Stet usually doesn't even start the snap call until 5-6 seconds left on clock. Cowbells really shouldn't be a factor.

“It’s not legal “
Here we go again. Cowbells have been rung at State since at least the 1930’s. It is really a weird thing. During the years that State has a losing team, you hear crickets about cowbells.
But all the sudden if State has a winning season, those pesky cowbells make a lot of tackles, run for TD’s, catch passes, return KO’s for TD’s etc. It is amazing what those cowbells do on the field.
In 1974, Auburn was playing State in Jackson. Auburn had a 24-0 lead in the 4th quarter when State mounted a comeback and cut the lead to 24-20. The cowbells were so loud, Auburn committed numerous penalties on offense (illegal procedure, delay of game etc.). But Auburn hung on for the win. Whiny Shug Jordan still cried about the noise and the following spring the SEC banned cowbells.
That stayed in effect until 2010. At that point they were allowed again. Our fans follow the protocols that are in place. You can hear the noise change as soon as the center touches the ball.
So it is a nonissue and they are a great tradition and they sound awesome.
Plus the SNF cowbell skit with Will Farrell is the most popular skit in the history of SNL.

What's the take here? Should Cohen ever hold a sacred bell in his hand after abandoning starkvegas?
maybe his wife will let him ring her rainbow cowbell.

When the center is over the ball, we're supposed to stop ringing. I think we do a pretty damn good job of it, but doesn't stop people from complaining.

That is the biggest joke I have ever seen. The SEC has never catered to State.
That we were able to get the cowbells back in 2010 was miracle. I think because people were bringing them in anyway was the biggest reason. It was easier to permit them with some guidelines and it has worked fine.

I don't think they bother the opposing team. The opposing fans, that's a different story. I've been to a game in Starkville and when it was close, those bells drove me crazy. But the players I don't think it bothers them.

Weird flex?
Cowbells are not new?
Georgia is #1
State is in the West, while UF and UF are in the East?
What were you going for here because I feel I missed the point of your post.
