re: Why is Manziel catching so much heat from the Rant?

JFF saw evil, heard evil, spoke evil---then scrambled around evil. Deal with it.

Disagree. People hated Cam b/c they thought he was bought and he came across as arrogant (not saying he is/was, but he came across that way at times). I think people respected his abilities.
People hated TM7 because he was a bit over-hyped. He was/is good, but he had some obvious limitations that were overlooked by many while they were busy creating this "Honey Badger" persona.
I know people hate on Manziel b/c of his talent, but there have been other talented people that weren't hated on. I think the hate for him is based around what people want him to act like compared to what he is acting like. It's his life, though. Let him do his thing. He'll mature and be humbled eventually. Let him have fun now.
(and, for the record, I think he has a good season, but not spectacular this year. He and A&M will learn it is a tough conference once teams have an idea of how to gameplan for you. A&M finishes 2nd or 3rd in the West and Manziel finishes like 5th in the Heisman, IMO)
I'm all for him living it up, as long as he can back it up on the field. Life's too damn short - he can act like a gentleman 20 years from now.

I'm going to say it again and again until it comes to pass and I can tell you "I told you so":
Due to the emergence of Brandon Williams, Manziel's rushing numbers will drop quite a bit next season. However, his PASSING numbers will go up significantly. He should have well over 4,000 yards and 30 TD passes this season.

Right, should have asked what other 20 year olds won a Heisman as a freshman.
The fact of the matter is that I don't really know what I'm talking about because I have no idea what JFF has been doing since football season because I don't really follow what other teams' QBs do in the off season. I mean, who GAF what JFF is doing besides his team and a bunch of aggies?
...but this thread is the suck.
As a matter of fact, this board seems to be full of a bunch of catty MFers.

Maybe, But let's leave who I'm fricking out of this conversation.
I was just responding to:
"...other "20 years olds" who have done what he has done."
...and thought he was the only freshman to win the Heisman. So it seems that the pool of other 20 year olds who have done what he has is pretty small.
Is that just out of this world ridiculous or something?

it's not "semantics", it's called "accomplishments", and it appears to me that he is peerless in this regard.

I think there is something about players who get by mostly on talent that just rubs people the wrong way.
JFF, Cam, and TM7 were ballers, but you never got the impression that they were hard workers.
Guys like Trent Richardson, Tebow, and Patrick Willis, were talented, but you could tell they put a ton of effort into making themselves better. That's why people like them more.

I don't hate him. Kid's a beast. But if I was an aTm fan I'd be secretly pretty worried whether he can maintain focus, and whether he's toeing the impermissable benefits line a little too closely.
Of course as an Auburn fan I know all about "innocent until proven guilty", but aTm fans simply aren't being truthful with themselves if his flagrancy in certain matters doesn't concern them.

Holy shite dude. He broke literally every record for a quarterback. You're fricking delusional.

Even Aggies like me are starting to get tired of the JFF thing. So, I can imagine that he is seriously wearing on non-Aggie RantTards. I don't get mad at the heat he gets from the rant, as long as it's fair.
The guy gives us exponentially better odds in any game and he is bringing a shite load of attention to my university, whether his actions cause a TMZ stir or a butthurt SEC hating clown color guy questioning the source of his court-side seats.
I guess I don't mind if JFF is always in the news, as long as he doesn't actually get in trouble or cause an NCAA investigation, keeps his grades up, and performs well on the field. It draws attention to A&M on a national scale, and that is something we really need. There's no such thing as bad press, well, except in Penn State's case.

The pathetic truth is that even with JFF and the Corch who deserves the raise, A&M will never make it to Atlanta with either.
