they buyouts for a coach leaving for another job are almost always small. That's why you never see it brought up. The only time you see buyouts talked about really are when coaches are fired. That's when they're huge. You wouldn't see as many coaches leaving their jobs if those buyouts were big

True, and usually the team the coach is going to pays that.

Nick Saban owed Alabama zero if he left for another school. Alabama owed him the entire balance remaining on the contract if we fired him.

The better the coach, the better the contract terms.

Sure do wish this board would make up its mind.

Kiffin is overrated.
*name gets brought up for any inkling of an open position.

Gets accused of throwing ridiculous amounts of money in NIL/transfer portal
*gets told to spend more money on NIL/transfer portal.

Is told that our program is a bottom feeder while having top 3 winning record since Kiffin has been here
*is told we pay Kiffin too much.

you’re all completely and utterly stupid.

Well, that was a joke. I guess I should've put a laughing face at the end to indicate that...

All I'm saying is he's making very close to the level of money that coaches make who have actually won things make....

I'm sure the program sells a lot of jerseys and pompoms... But isn't it more about that postseason? Do you really care how many t-shirts you sell?

His buyout after this season (if he terminates the contract) would only be $2 million

Saban had a great agent for sure! But hey, I bet Bama and Saban are very happy with his success there.

That’s nice if that’s all your fanbase wants. No NC. No SEC championship. No SECCG appearances. Great coach if you only strive to be good.

Do you think Lane should get a raise at Ole Miss?

Well, if Auburn is paying 7 million for losing records then maybe Lane is actually underpaid.

He's definitely twice the coach Freeze is so.....maybe?

But no I dont think he needs another raise yet. If he wins 10 games again the sure.

You need to worry about Auburn buddy.

I think he goes to the West Coast or Big Ten next

Nahh, I understand completely. Ole Miss pays your coach $9M per year for a 10 win record and not making the post season every year,. but that's good for a school like Ole Miss since he's done better than than anyone else, so that $9M salary is justified in your head.

Did I miss anything?

Yeah, Freeze is overpaid. I said that already. I can worry about more than one thing at a time.

We pay 9 million for 10 or 11 wins.

Auburn pays 7 million for 6-6.

Yall are getting screwed over.

What's funny is if Freeze can manage 10 wins ONCE Auburn will boost him to 10 million.

Clowns.

First off, making digs about Auburn does nothing for me... I don't care that much.. maybe try something else to try to get under my skin... I'm not sure what advice to give ya...

Second, yeah Freeze is overpaid. I have no trouble saying that. Of course he is.

to be fair, there are numerous articles that state:

quote:

There is no offset for the buyout if Napier gets another job.

whatever that means

Lane has earned his pay.

It is as simple as that.

He is a really good coach and he is getting an appropriate salary.

Just worry about Auburn. We are happy paying Lane to win games and keep us in the top 25 year in and year out.
