Why is Kevin Sumlin's team picked so low in the West in YEAR 4?

The media picked you guys 6th in the West. Kevin's had 4 years to get on track to winning the SEC Championship. You guys are not even in contention to win the West.

Sumlin's only good year was with a team he didn't recruit. I'm not really sure what he's done to earn $5 million a year.

Saban was playing for an SEC Championship in year 2. Malzahn played for the Natty in year 1. Les Miles won a Natty in year 3. Butch Jones has a team that could win the SEC East this year.

Sumlin's time is up. He's just an average coach if he doesn't at least win the West this year. He doesn't belong coaching next to the elites of the SEC.

He recruits very well and doesn't produce results.

Because we all can't play in the east.

Yeah, that means Butch is just an average coach too if he can't win the East this year.

Can't really bash him for recruiting. He's done fairly well in that area and will leave A&M in a decent spot if they decide to part ways at some point

Remember after his first year some of the media was saying he was the 2nd best coach in the SEC and that the NFL would be calling really soon.

He didn't win anything significant with the best player in program history on the roster.

They are in contention now as are all teams. Once the season starts though......I agree, long shot.

Yes, because every situation is exactly the same and all. Give me a break.

Sumlin came into a great situation and has shite the bed thus far.

Butch Jones had to rebuild an entire program.

This board is full of complete morons and 12 year olds.

Yeah, he inherited this guy named Manziel.

I'm sure you've heard of him.

Thanks for proving my point moron.

Yeah a 3 star high school recruit who became better than everyone predicted.

But yeah he was walking into a "great" situation with LSU and Bama coming off of insanely great seasons, and also competing with Texas for high school recruits.

Not to mention A&M doesn't have the name recognition that Tennessee does.

But yeah it was a "great" situation.

A Heisman QB is a great situation for any program.

A&M absolutely has more name recognition than Tennessee. Everywhere I've been people comment on my Maroon Out tee shirt and 12th man cap. People have a ton of respect for A&M.

I would recommend getting out of Burleson County sometime.

A&M 5 years before joining the SEC (33-31):

07: 7-6
08: 4-8
09: 6-7
10: 9-4
11: 7-6

Tennessee during those 5 years (33-31):

07: 10-4
08: 5-7
09: 7-6
10: 6-7
11: 5-7

Not to mention A&M transitioned from the Big 12 to the toughest division in America.

But yeah A&M was by far the better situation right? Tennessee certainly has less excuses for struggling being in the East than A&M does.
