The dude is actually throwing pretty well. He’s no Lamar Jackson, but 100 yds a game on the ground isn’t bad either. He’s definitely better than probably 3-5 starters in the NFL right now.

Kyler Murray didn’t get any NFL looks at all by this time last year.

There are 3-5 Qbs that are about to come out that most would say are better prospects than Hurts. Now, when the draft comes around his stock will rise. Only time will tell.

I have yet to see Tx make a tackle. I have watched the better part of two games and they are the second best team in the conference.

Run first bros are always met with skeptical scouts my dude. Hopefully he has a combine. I'm rooting for Jalen

How many tackles did LSU have compared to Texas? They were both equally as bad. Don’t make yourself look like a dumbass.

Because he looked like a great runner and mediocre QB for 3 years when he played against decent defenses.

I think he has improved. But, not as much as it seems in that shite conference. And, Riley's offense makes all the QB's look great.

I would bet money that all 3 claims of fact in this statement are false.

Jalen isn't getting NFL prospect looks because his SEC tape doesn't look like an NFL QB. At this point I think we have to admit that any QB recruit that chooses Alabama in the future is doing it for 1. emotional reasons, 2. because they want to be surrounded by excessive talent and therefore the best chance to win in college, or 3 because they think its their only way to hide their not-NFL-level-talent long enough to get drafted into a career backup role.

Did you watch Jalen Hurts the 2 years he started at Alabama? There is a lot of silly chain pulling here on this board, but there is a great reason that Tua took that starting job.

Jalen did improve last season under Dan Enos, and he's improved more with Ridley, but a lot of his success this year is due to Big 12 defenses. Also due to the fact that Ridley isn't only a very good quarterback coach but is a great offensive coach.

Finally, the NFL looks at the longterm college career of players, not one season.

He’s leaps and bounds better than he was at Alabama, but he’s not consistently required to make difficult, NFL-type throws.

Watch Oklahoma’s highlights, and you’ll see he’s throwing to receivers who are running freely without a defender within 20 yards.

Hurts is an elite football talent, but not an elite quarterback talent.

Projecting NFL QB's is so hard to do.
Would not surprise me if he ends up proving the experts wrong and having a better career than Tua.
From a mental standpoint he's already passed with flying colors!

He is. Not sure a lot of people have him in the first round right now, but I've seen second and third round projections.

Looks like Tua, Burrow, and Herbert are kind of the consensus first round guys right now. Hurts is in that next group with guys like Eason and Fromm.

A lot can still change and it will change. Scouts will still evaluate Hurts' time in the SEC where he was a one read guy with some timing and accuracy issues but an incredibly athletic QB. It looks like his passing has improved (both last year at Bama at times and certainly this year at OU) but the OU system QB stigma could start coming into play (i.e., Baker Mayfield is really struggling and Kyler Murray has been okay as a rookie but the verdict is still out). Hurts is still not as accurate and quick (throwing the the ball) as guys like Tua, Burrow, etc and the NFL requires so much more accuracy and quickness than college. He is being looked at as a guy with a lot of potential but not a sure fire thing. That's second and third round, probably not first round.

He’s not an NFL level QB. He’s still a one-look and take off to the right and run QB. He’s improved his downfield passing but only when his first option is wide open, which happens often vs B12 defenses.

I don't know what you are getting at.
I took the premise of the OP as...Why isnt Jalen getting NFL hype because he is putting up great numbers. My comment is that ...its a crap D conf. UTx is the second best team and after watching most of the LSU game -it appeared they were not solid in tackling. After watching the KU game (in laws are grads) they are worse that the LSU game. So if i were a GM...i would take the stats with a grain of salt

Can he make an NFL team..i believe so. He has progressed every yr as a thrower...but not to a team that needs someone immediately.

Why QBs come to Alabama....ask Tua or Jalen...AJ. All were set to go somewhere else and all progressed each yr that they were in Tusacloosa.

IM bored so let me break it down for you. you said:
1.I have yet to see Tx make a tackle.
This obviously hyperbole, and like most hyperbole, false.

2.I have watched the better part of two games
I am calling this a lie. you're lying.
3.they are the second best team in the conference.
Texas is not the second highest ranked team in the big12 by any measure, no pundits are calling them the second best team, and I would argue Iowa st in addition to Baylor is a better football team thus far this year. It would not surprise me if TCU beat Texas this weekend. Texas, like Notre Dame, like Nebraska, like Michigan, like a few other teams, is made a fraud every year by the voters. their national brand has not been matched by their on field play in more than a decade.

but for LSU and the SEC in general its in our interest to pretend this win was a top5-top10 win. but lets be honest. it wasn't. its a useful win because its against a big name team at their stadium. but by the end of the year Texas will be 8-4 and fringe top25 at best.

He grades out as more of a TE/H-Back in the NFL.

His highlights look great from a passing perspective, but if you watch the games he's not on that level as a passer ATM.
Lamar Jackson was sometimes erratic, but his potential as a passer was evident, which is more than you can say for Jalen. Jackson was also on another level as a runner.

That's not to say Jalen can't continue to improve. His work ethic, leadership, intelligence, and intangibles are aren't in question. He's a project, but I expect he'll get drafted. 3rd round ceiling maybe?

They were talking on the radio about a Dane Brugler (he puts in the scout work) Athletic article on draft eligible QBs. From what I remember, Jalen was in his Tier 3 category...and I want to say #7 overall. I don't have a subscription, so I can only go by memory.
