It is like confusing the NFL with an entity other than the NFL Owners.

The Big 12 (t.u.) would agree to it in a split second. They would LOVE a chance to relegate Baylor or TCU.

I understand what you are saying but I disagree.
Programs aren't beating down the b12 doors.

But your program could be one of the ones relegated in the future. Its all risk and little reward. As the AD at say Oklahoma State or Texas Tech I would never ever vote for this. My program could be next

Troy will come without a return game. And sell 10,000 tickets before arriving. Bama hasn't competed with them for a recruit since the probation 90's. They tend to have at most, 3-4 future NFLers on the roster at any given time. It's a win/win for Bama and the Barn to host them. They would even buy shitty upper deck tickets the first few times around.

Ohio State's 2019 OOC schedule...

2019
08/31 - Florida Atlantic
09/07 - Cincinnati
09/21 - Miami (Ohio)

Not much difference than an FCS team and all of those are at Ohio Stadium...

Neat.

Zero FCS teams, and still nine Power 5 teams.

We also played zero FCS teams this year and eleven Power 5 teams.

So basically...suck it.

I agree with the Bama guys. To change would take a monumental reshuffling of games and cost the FCS programs many dollars they need. As stated, some of the FCS teams could hold their own with most any conferences bottom dwellers. It also helps some teams get bowl eligible but there ARE too many bowls, except I like to watch them all, HA!

Never is a long time. I counted 84 non-1A teams in their historical scores.

All power five conferences (B1G, ACC, PAC and Big-12) except the SEC play 9 conference games, so it really is as simple as adding another conference game instead of playing cupcakes. Saban is right.

Under my proposal, you would have to be in last place 2 years in a row AND a team in the corresponding division would have to be in first place 2 years in a row. The additional caveat would be that a bowl-eligible team would not be relegated under any circumstance.

Yeah, I know what your proposal said. This could have been year #2 for Tennessee, and if there had been a corresponding team from the Sun Belt, the Vols could have been stuck in the Sun Belt for the next ten years. It would literally destroy their football program.

You actually think Tennessee, or any Power 5 team would agree to that kind of system?

They wouldn't. Conferences might during the upcoming realignment.

The teams wouldn't, but the conferences might?

Listen to yourself. Who the frick do you think "the conferences" are?

Serious question: why should I give a shite? I'd rather have fewer teams and get quality football every Saturday.

Not every school needs nor should have a football program. Saturation isn't the ideal here.

You shouldnt. If these programs went away noone would really care. D2 football is much better entertainment than FCS. Those teams aren’t pretending to be something they arent and aren’t pimping their athletes out to be slaughtered for a payday to pay for their overinflated budgets.

Sad that this is what Gumps have been reduced to. It was almost four years ago now. Get over it. Move on.
