I've never attended a game and knew if there were bat girls, or when the fans did or didn't cheer. Just consider the source.

Stuck at home yesterday watching the game on TV. Several times I saw female hotties in maroon shirts and little white shorts retrieving the bats.
I've been to CS several times and there are plenty of hot Texas girls.

I am too.
I'm also amazed at what they [choose to] believe. But I have a few theories as to why that is.
It reminds me a little of the reaction(s) I receive when I travel, and people learn that I'm from Texas. I then spend the next couple of minutes fielding questions like, "How many horses to you have?" "Really? But you speak normally;" "Do you live on a ranch?" "It's so intolerant there--what's that like?"
It's easier for folks to develop misconceptions when they (a) want to, and/or (b) they don't know better.

Two of the Diamond Darlings were in line at McDonads between the games so I know they were there. They act as bat girls for the visiting teams as none of them ever bring their own.
