We produce some talented HS players just not enough. DGB and Sheldon Richardson to name a few recent ones. Also our coaches recruit to their system first and foremost.

Ahhh, so you're like Auburn, but you don't wait for the head cases and thugs to transfer, you just get them straight out of high school. Interesting.

I'm asking, really. Who were they, what position, etc.

I couldn't pick a Mizz player out of a lineup.

Didn't he just get arrested again? I thought I read that but maybe it was an old article. Hope not and he has a long career after learning from his mistakes.

He isn't too bright. He got pulled over in his home town of Springfield and was arrested for an outstanding ticket. It turns out he got pulled over and was given a ticket on the way home from the hospital where his son was born. He claimed ignorance and said that he thought the first ticket was a warning and not an actual ticket.

I don't think Gabbert or Richardson were 5 stars. I think DGB was the first 5 star MU has ever had.

Rivals

He was a 5 star out of HS, #4 player in the nation. Got downgraded when he didn't qualify.

Probably true. MU does not have a home stand of talent. They recruit and sign a lot of past over talent and do pretty good with that.

What I don't understand is why a 4* or a 5* wants to go to someplace where they are competing with other 4 and 5*s for a starting position. There was a TE 4* from Jefferson City signed with Alabama, if he would have signed with MU he would have played some, at Bama I don't think he has seen the field. But hey its a kids choice... +Bama prob pays better..lol

When you understand this you'll have 4 and 5 stars competing for the same positions at MU.

There are several reasons this happens at some schools.

You're talking about Hale Hentges. He's played in three games. TE was a position of need and he will likely be the guy next year.

What really confuses me is that the best DE duo in the conference is comprised of a sophomore and a RS freshman that were both two stars out of high school. How does that happen?

Not reading all 3 pages...but aTm have waaaaaaaaay more athletes to pull from. Way more talent in state. They should clean up in recruiting.
