The fact that Aggy would be ecstatic with 8-9 wins shows where you are as a program.
A&M will win around 8 games after losing to their usual losses and going to overtime with Arkansas.
Then we'll have another off-season full of "you-just-wait".

A&M fired Sumlin for too many 8 win seasons.
LSU hired Ed O because LSU went 8-4 that year and then ignored his horrendous coaching history.

I don't know many that would be ecstatic. I would personally be happy with it this year. But the expectations are certainly higher than that going forward. If we were ecstatic with 8 wins, Sumlin would be here into perpetuity.

Growing up & living in Texas gives me a knowledge of tAggy that others simply don't have.

I think they probably would have won 9-10 games with a healthy Francois all season. Having said that, Jimbo is also a big part of why things unraveled. He looked totally exasperated with the young QB last year and I don't know how well he actually coached him.
