IMO, it's because historically we get close, the bandwagon starts to fill, bottles all lined up for poppin, media bites and does a piece... and then we shite the bed when we get our shot or wreck a "bike" or Nutter chews his fingernails to the knuckle. Gotta win when it counts.

But, regardless the sport or level of success, you only hear about Arkansas from Arkansas fans.
Why can every SEC program get attention on a national scale except Arkansas?
The team never was able to sustain at that level for a long time. When they become a very good team the bottom falls off the following year or two.

Huh? Ole Miss and Miss St. are probably the only ones that you listed that I would say get more national attention. Play better more consistently and maybe someone will recognize you.
Arkansas was ranked 3rd in the country the year before this.

I reckon it is because this is a reasonable question with the obvious answer being that with another good season they will get their due.
It's not like the OP claimed that Arkansas is full of a bunch of toothless, moonshine swillin', in bred meth heads. That of course would probably bring out the ire and enmity of the Arkansas fan.
But certainly nobody would say anything like that about Arkansas on SEC Rant.
