I don't think Bama is declining.
I think the only place to go for a team that has won 3 of 5 BCSNCGs is down. Even NOT making it to the BCSNCG last year was a "decline" over the previous 2 seasons. By the literal definition of decline, Bama did decline last year. That doesn't mean they are going to be horrible.

At what point in the history of either of those programs have they consistently surpassed Bama? Not a knock. Both are very good programs (AU being better than A&M, of course), but to say A&M and AU are "surpassing" Bama means you think that both of those teams will do better than 72-9 in their next 81 games while winning MORE than 3 titles. Ain't happening, bruh.
(I will say that A&M and AU are both programs on the rise and both appear to be in great shape to be perennial top 10 teams for years to come...along with Bama)

If 9-3 with a solid bowl game is Tdecline then I am alright with that.

They're just saying it on here because people bite. It's just trolling, and they're not quite bright enough to do it outside of a football forum.
I know. However, I also recognize peoples' propensity to believe their own bullshite.

This and because some desperately HOPE that it's true.

Why do the majority of you think Bama is on the decline?
because anything short of playing in the nc game is considered a decline to some people.

Folks may wish/hope/feel that we are in decline...when in actuality, other programs have elevated their performance to pull closer to us. Nothing wrong with that as it enhances the SEC's stature even more nationally, from a competitive standpoint.

When you're in the top 5 every year it's a heck of a lot easier to decline than it is to keep that going, that's all.

They need better players.

The defense might not be what it used to be, but the offense is a little better. Not sure why everyone is so sure they lose a couple games. This ain't my business though.
Don't know about a decline but it seems obvious that Saban realized they had fallen behind offensively. Too many field goal contests.

It is called wishful thinking.

Here are my reasons:
- The schedule (SEC) is tougher
- The excitement around the "return" to prominance is gone.
- Sustaining a program at a certain level is extremely tough. Its easier to get motivated when you don't have a ring on your finger. That's a problem all programs have when they have success early in a head coach's tenure.
