i don't think Clemson looks like any SEC school. UVA is the closest looking one to CU.
Auburn is flat as a pancake, less trees, no lake, not near Blue Ridge mtns etc.

i'm talking about the campus, not the towns. i prefer for all the big box stores and mall to be away from the campus. all that is over in Anderson. traffc in cville really sucks which hurts the college town vibe.
there are a lot of hippies, Bohemians downtown C'ville, they do these weird group dances. It is kind of like Asheville.

Clemson like 20, 21 ranked public university in US News, which is basically how people rank them.

there is a lot of stigma attached to the state of alabama, although most of it is unfair. i wouldn't want to have Bama or Auburn on my resume b/c of it.

clemson better than Duke for engineering and architecture.
duke is more about the medical college and other professional schools.
they only have 6000 undergrads, that is like 4000 less than College of Charleston.
they and other privates aren't required to take x number of in state students, and they are so small, so they can be real selective, in a way publics cannot. but then they get credit for the selectivity in the US News rankings.
