Well I went to the high class institution known as LSU, and have had job offers in all of those cities (Pal Alto/Silicon Valley instead of SF).

Any idiot that would judge a candidate due to a perceived stereotype of a region is showing the same idiocy and close-mindedness of

But what do I know, I've just worked for 2 fortune 100 companies, another one that would easily be valued up there and have traveled extensively around North America.

Here's another BS stereotype: New Yorkers aren't all dicks, they just have a city, fast-paced lifestyle. Put a drink in their hand, and most educated people are similar.

Now if a candidate went to A&M, I'd throw that resume out

our senator won with 70 percent white in general, and like 95 percent white in GOP primary.

Such courage being hand picked by the retiring Senator and running in the general election unopposed.

quote:

Scott decided to run for his seat in District 117 of the South Carolina House of Representatives and won the Republican primary with 53% of the vote, defeating Bill Crosby and Wheeler Tillman.[27] He won the general election unopposed,[28] becoming the first Republican African American representative from South Carolina in more than 100 years.[29][30]

And he's a republican in a republican state.

Northern liberals who think Southerners are racist love black Republicans and if you make a point to tell them you elected one they are sure to embrace you

not really what was said. You threw a rock from the front porch of a glass house, and now you're crying that stones are cracking your walls.

we can then only conclude some things abut Auburn and the state of AL.

What?

I have a feeling you're not in a position to be hiring anyone.

South Carolina is the north?

And you have to be kidding me if you honestly believe this. The Rebublican party and their members in the South love a black Republican who totes the party line, especially in response to Obama and calls of racism.

He won 53 percent of the vote in a run-off against Paul Thurmond, because he did not win the majority in the open primary.

He ran unopposed in the Republican party in 2012. Did you just make up your 90+% fact?

so your premise is everybody who did not vote for Scott in primary was racist?

i forgot he ran unapposed.

but if he had been opposed, he would have still won with a lot of white voters.

I'm guessing he definitely works near the lake since he mentions it so often. Probably a bait shack employee. Hell, he might even own the damn thing.

Putting crickets in the pen is a one man operation, however. But I'm sure he's open to franchising.

Where did you get that impression?

And my apologies, I was reading up on his House of Reps elections.

Scott was appointed, not elected to the Senate

quote:

On December 17, 2012, South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley announced she would appoint Scott to replace retiring Senator Jim DeMint

So he got the advantage of running as an incumbent before ever winning the office

He didn't run unopposed for the Senate. He was appointed, not originally elected, by the governor because he was a minority:

quote:

On December 17, 2012, South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley announced she would appoint Scott to replace retiring Senator Jim DeMint

quote:

"It is important to me, as a minority female, that Congressman Scott earned this seat, he earned this seat for the person that he is. He earned this seat with the results he has shown."
