But to add to it...

KC was the home to the Big6/7/8 tourney for a gazillion years before the Big XII.

It is a bid deal in KCMO and always has been. KU and KSU are close (and Missouri was) and this has always been a huge deal for Iowa State fans... they come to KC en masse until ISU gets eliminated... This year ISU is still there... So their fans are still there. And historically... Almost always.. one of Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri or Iowa State was in the finals... So there was always a big crowd all the way through.

Finally... in the old Big 8... Oklahoma State was really the only baseball school... In the Big XII it was them, Texas and A&M...

The Big XII fans don't care about baseball at all. Now that OU and Texas and A&M are gone you have OSU, Arizona, Arizona State, TCU and Texas Tech as your baseball schools. And that is pretty much it.

Im perplexed that you chose this game for an example.

Basketball is a horrible spectator sport. Until they cut down on the incessant ticky tacky foul calling, it will remain horrible.

I have the opportunity to sit under the basket a good bit on the floor. Ticky tack fouls? it's more like, teams assault each other knowing the refs won't call them all. The game is really physical. That's the bigger issue. Refs aren't great but they catch too much shite. Every time someone loses, it's their fault. Absurd.
