You're a stupid fricking ignorant clown. Take a look at your own schedule you imbecile. Alabama's only real games all season are aTm and LSU. I'm sure you and your gay Alabama buddies will be patting each other on the arse after you beat the storied Chattagooga Mocs, or whoever the hell they are.

Meh. But this is more a general observation over the last few years. This year doesn't really count since we're only halfway done.

And quit being so damn sensitive.

You posed the question and we are witnessing what would happen right now. Not sensitive but stating the facts.

If you are up by 30 points, you tend to play to run the clock out and don't really care if the other team puts together a 6 minute, 80 yard drive in the 4th quarter against your backups that scores a touchdown and pulls the other team back to within 24 points...

What's the disconnect here? Teams like Oregon, A&M, WVU, Baylor, etc.. typically have pretty weak and bad defenses? Is it there some inverse relationship between spread offensive minded head coaches and their defenses?

Imagine if a team like Oregon or Baylor had a strong defense. Like a FSU or Alabama type defense. It would pretty tough to stop.

Everything is related to recruiting. People think way too much in to this. If Florida ran a high powered spread, they'd still have 4 and 5 stars on defense every where.

Baylor, for example, I don't know if they have had a single 4 star defensive recruit in years. Players that are talented enough to go to some place better, might rarely get lured there due to Briles and his offensive system.

Same with Oregon. They are paying offensive recruits all over the country, not defensive ones. Mike Sherman was also an offensive guy, and his defensive recruiting definitely doesn't come anywhere close to his offensive one.

I posed a question, most people gave legit answers, I acknowledged those answers, and then you lost your shite.

ETA: nvm, it was Bamafatigue who lost his shite, not you. My apologies.

I'll admit, Oregon's schedule so far has not been that great. But it's not like Bama's has been any better either. Some people say that Oregon beat Washington State by "only" 24 points (for those who don't know, Oregon has played 3rd string players starting in the 2nd half except against Washington), yet this is the same Washington State team that only lost by like a touchdown to the current 2nd rank Auburn in the SEC West.

I get what you're saying but transitive property doesn't work in sports.

It does tell you that they aren't bad though. Please, saying that WAZZU is a high school team when they talk Auburn to the wire is a joke. That is the point.

That doesn't have to be the case.

'06 and '08 UF both had pretty awesome defenses.

They're definitely improving. Leach has them moving in the right direction for sure.

I don't know if I'd compare Auburn of Week 1 to now. Its a far, far better team right now.

But I see what you're saying,

I think part of it is mental/drive.

If your high powered offense starts the game with a score. The other teams O is going to try hard to score to keep up. The D will also slack off on some effort when they have a lead and an O that keeps putting up points.

If we're paying for recruits, we paying on the defensive side of the ball too.

The Defense just wants to get off the field as fast as posible so they can help their Offense break records.
