I, for one, like playing Florida every year. It's one of my favorite games on the yearly schedule. I also don't give two shits about who Bama plays. It's a tradition for them so let them enjoy hating each other. I have no problems with it, and most of the LSU fans I know share this opinion.

I'm an LSU and I don't care that Bama has a rivalry with Tenn!!

I have no idea what you're talking about. I loathe Florida. So does most every LSU fan I know. Nothing was forced on us, LSU and Florida were playing yearly for over two decades before the SEC even split. We've been playing yearly for almost 50 years. It wasn't manufactured at all, certainly not by the division split and not by UT/UA at all.
...and honestly the multitude of LSU fans who piss and moan about having to play Florida just come off as humongous pussies. I hope we play Florida every fricking year as long as there is an SEC.

I just don't like the idea it takes so long to cycle through the cross division schedule. I think they should be two rotating. If it is such a big deal to AU, Bama, UT, and UGA then make the division more west and east. So AU and Bama to the east and Vandy and Mizzou to the west. If playing them doesn't matter then make it two rotating.

I still think it is stupid to slow down the cycling through the schedule just for two games that could easily be fixed by a better split of the conference. If it matters that much then split the conference more geographic and swap Bama and Vandy.

Generational thing maybe? You are entitled to your opinion, sir and I've started every post I've mad in this thread with "I can't speak for other LSU fans". Don't mind playing them since we win far more often than not lately. I'm mean who's being a pussy about playing a team we keep beating? We've won 5 of 6. What is there to be scared of? It's not about competition it's about having a diverse schedule. Are you okay with LSU's schedule being dictated by the wants of 4 other schools? I'm just not. Sorry

I love the Alabama-Tennessee rivalry. Of all my other friends that root for Alabama, I'm one of the only ones that hates Auburn more than Tennessee, mostly because I also hate them as an LSU fan, where Tennessee doesn't really matter much to us.

But it's OUR rivalry. It's historic, it's tradition. UT and UA look forward to this game every year. It's part of summer ending, and wearing a jacket to football games as opposed to flip-flops and a t-shirt.
It's as much a part of our lives as Thanksgiving dinner and gearing up the house for trick-or-treaters.
It's TSIO and a tradition of college football. I nearly got a DUI in 1994 for riding around cranking "Back in the Saddle" by Aerosmith. Of course in years following UT had other winning streaks :)
