Why did the Bama Georgia game end after 7 when the score was 5-4 Final?

Seen this a few times this year when obvious separation isn’t by 10 runs. All I can think is it was due to weather issues or lightning but still doesn’t make sense in a game that close.

Can anyone confirm or explain why this happens sometimes?

Because they were playing a postponed double header the day after the series was scheduled to conclude on a day when rain was forecast (and it is now pouring) in the afternoon. They played 12 innings today and got both games in.

The SEC's weather policy allows for a game to be played as a seven-inning contest if inclement weather is expected, particularly for the final game of a conference series. This policy is designed to ensure that games can be completed in a timely manner while considering the safety of players and fans

Ok I saw another game yesterday(Saturday) do a similar thing ending 15-10 score in the 7th so I’m assuming they started Thursday for this same scenario to happen.

Or played more than 1 game yesterday and closed out series today. Double headers are almost always 7 inning games. FL/Mizz played 2 seven inning double header games after one day was a complete rain out earlier this year. Was one of the only times Mizzou didn’t give up 7 runs in an SEC game until this weekend.

On Sunday. Friday or Saturday they’ll almost assuredly play the nine.
