Because our freshman receiver had a perfectly thrown touchdown pass pop off his shoulder pads and into the hands of an LSU defender. That really is it.
Pretty much this.
Without those inexplicable mistakes by our receivers, we win without really playing all that well. LSU fans talk about "shutting us down" and "dominating" but the reality is that we would have won if we had managed to ONLY turn the ball over three or four times. It took five turnovers for them to win by less than a TD. That isnt "domination", it's a gift.

You're WAY overthinking it.
I'm guessing you didn't watch every A&M game in full as the season progessed. I'd say that's a fair assumption, I sure didn't watch every Kentucky game.
If you had, you would have noticed that Johnny and the team in general (the O-line getting used to the new blocking scheme particularly) progressed a great deal as the season wore on. We started out against UF with a QB who flushed the pocket at the first sign of trouble, who didn't attempt passes beyond 10 yards, who stood behind a line that got demolished, and a team that didn't fully trust its coaching yet. When played LSU, we were better than we were against UF, but not quite there yet. By the time we played Bama, JF was standing in the pocket all day if he wanted to and was lobbing bombs downfield. Day and night.

LSU beat bama too just not on the scoreboard.
But there was NO doubt who the better team was that night.
I remember reading this on the rant around this time last year and posters, such as yourself, blasted a certain fan base for saying such things.

Because Nussmeier got cute on the goaline and refused to run it despite having 4 downs to go just 6 little yards.
Very true, but the tackling sucked big time in that game. The fumble pass TD by Manziel was insane lol. TAMU executed and Bama didnt. Happy the team responded after getting punched in the mouth....that experience paid serious dividends vs UGA in my opinion

LSU played better than ATM when they played and won
Bama played better than LSU when they played & won
ATM played better than Bama when they played & won
What is so hard to understand about this? It's not "oh, we just played shitty that's why we lost"

Because Bama went to war with LSU the week before and was emotionally drained. It was a classic trap game. A&M jumped Bama early and then held on for dear life.
Unless Nick leaves for the NFL Alabama is going to beat A&M worse than Ike Turner used to beat his girlfriends

Yeah...funny those "everyone" you speak of included about 98% of non Bama fans. Thank Spurrier for that stupid stuff getting started

Because LSU has a much faster defense and they were able to limit Manziel on the ground. In A&M's two losses this year, Manziel averaged 3.5 and 1.6 yards per carry. In every A&M win this year, Manziel rushed for at least 5.0 yards per carry. Contain Manziel on the ground and you have a good chance of winning the game. If you do not, you're probably going to lose.

Florida is better now than they were then - they would beat A&M by a larger margin today than when they played earlier this year

I watched the A&M/Florida game & A&M/Bama game.

JF, seemed to get pressured more against LSU and it caused him to panic. I think he just matured throughout the season by the time he got to Tuscaloosa and learned not to force it if its not there like he did against LSU. The difference 3 interceptions --> 0 Interceptions

I certainly think it would be a great game. Maybe we can see 12/7 next year.

Bama beat themselves is the only correct answer

A&M will do anything they can to discredit our win..

A&M fans like to pretend LSU played really well against them.
You dominated early and we figured out how to slow you down later. Should have been an additional turnover if Reid didn't drop a gifted interception on what was one of the dumbest football plays I've ever seen by Manziel.

I don't think it will matter. With or without Saban, smart money says an arse whooping is on tap for the Aggies.

If I had to defend against JF, I would have used the middle linebacker as a spy on the QB and had him purse anytime he looked like he was going to run. I would have also played a man coverage on the outside. It seems like Bamas DB's could have stuck with their WR's.
