Bielema elevated them beyond anything Alvarez ever did.

Wisconsin was a dumpster fire, they hadn’t gone to a bowl in almost a decade when Alvarez got there , and he won 3 Big 10 titles and 3 rose bowls. More importantly, he turned the program into a legit nationally recognized team.

Beliema inherited a top 15 program and pretty much sustained it while losing 3 straight rose bowls.

He leveraged being born on 3rd and believing he hit a triple into the Arkansas job. He was then utterly exposed when he playing against teams with equal or superior talent in Fayetteville week in and week out as opposed to having superior talent every time he stepped on the field outside of playing Ohio State and Michigan when at Wisconsin.

Alvarez is 10 times the coach Beliema ever will be.

Lack of head coaching experience and it's obvious.

Bert has more potential but his general laziness, very cocky attitude and being a drunk holds him back.

Why does Pittman suck too

I don't think he does. Is he the best coach? No.

Is he an alcoholic? No.

I don't think comparing the NIL era vs previous ones is fair.

I wouldn't say he sucks. He just can't win a close game to save his life.

Arkansas has lost anywhere from 3-5 games a year by 1 score or less with Pittman. Even his 4-8 season they lost 5 games by 7 points or less. In 3 of them they had the lead in the 4th quarter.

If they can figure out how to close games, they will be tough

Give Pittman that charmin schedule and he would go 9-3.

Stuck in the 90s. Sadly almost every team has guys big enough to clog up running lanes.

Because he came into the SEC West at a time when it was probably the toughest division of any conference in the history of the sport, and his Wisconsin-style system was never going to be able to compete with Saban at Alabama or Miles at LSU. Plus A&M had just joined the SEC, which hurt Arkansas' ability to recruit Texas.

He has been successful at the Wisconsins and Illinoises of the world because they played in the B1G West, which was probably the weakest division of any conference in the history of the sport, and his continued success post-divisions has been due to Illinois continuing to play epically soft schedules. Any good team they've played they lost, but they've played barely any good teams. Their schedule this year is a complete joke. They may backdoor their way into the playoffs but they'll be flattened once they get there if they do.

Arkansas has recruited Texas less since joining the SEC.

It has allowed them to recruit in other states.
