Why did AU put Lutz back in the Game after suffering a Concussion

Two plays prior to the final INT, Lutz suffers a clear concussion and has to be helped offed the field. As he is assisted off, the cameras zoom in and he is opening his eyes widely and then shutting them tightly repeatedly while with the trainers/coaches. He sits one play and they send him back out. If that was my kid, he would be done playing football at AU. Their performance was bad, but as much as we now know about concussions, nothing is as bad as what they did to their too brave for his own good TE.

You're acting like we put him back in against his own will.

I'm not so sure it was that obvious he had a concussion

No, no...we still have Corey Lemonier.

If it was a concussion he wouldn't have been out there

No offense and I have no idea if he had a concussion or not, but if he did or they thought he might that is no longer the decision of the player. I think that was the point the OP was making that you obviously missed.

maybe he had something in his eye?

Lutz likes to build suspense with what seem to be serious injuries, but he gets back out a few plays later.

That would be the only other explanation for how he was behaving, but if you get something in your eye you don't lay on the ground for close to a minute and require two people to assist you off the field.
Anyone who doesn't think he suffered a clear concussion and was put in a play later it being a complete homer. Doesn't matter what he tweeted an hour later (boxers get knocked out and give interviews 10 minutes later) that dude was out cold and those who promised his family they would take care of him did anything but that. Much more embarrassing than the loss. Football is just a game, these coaches are showing that they have no integrity.

This is possible.

AU is a shady program that forces injured kids out onto the field. Will be shut down soon, I'm sure.

I hope this is not true, but I must admit it was a shady move and merits some investigation from people outside the athletic department.
