I didn't see that. He's a tool and I shouldn't have responded to him!

These assistants know full well what they are getting themselves into. His system works well for some, not for others.

Yes, they know what they are getting into and it is often a calculated well thought out move. Work you arse off for a year or two then enjoy the rewards for years to come with a better job/position.

Check out a thread he started on the Recruiting Board. He's held in high esteem by LSU fans.

After hearing the infamous less than full story about the 'empty plane' coming back from East Lansing with no assistants and the fruit basket turnover his first year at LSU, I was thinking 'who is this nut ?' But honestly, its like any other managerial position, you want guys working for you doing things your way. Saban's job is to build a program and win ball games.

The assistants leaving, especially on defense,is much to do about nothing,IMO.

Boy bama is really gonna suck next year. It will be great to watch then completely unravel. New qb lose your best lineman lose your best assistant coaches.....I'm going to say it now that last year is the best year bama will have under saban.

That's silly.

However people don't like working for Saban because he works people to death. He loves to work and expects that from the staff. He makes 4 million and the staff makes 5% of that. I've always hated be overworked and undervalued in my career. I think everyone is like that.

Imagine working 18 hours a day. Getting 5% of what your boss makes and getting none of the credit for anything.

In conclusion I have no idea why people would hate working for him... but he sure can coach.

A couple of 3-4 loss seasons (atleast 1 loss to AU) and they'll run him out of town.

I don't think Saban will ever be "run out" of T-town...unless it's in 20 years and he's hanging on like Jo Pa (remember the rumblings just a year ago) following a long tenure with many years of success followed by recent mediocrity.

A-hole or not, Nick Saban is one of the best coaches in college football. Yeah he plays conservative, run-oriented stingy-D football, but that's how he builds his teams and it works.

He may grow tired of the lunatic fringe of the Alabama fan base (which is just as bad as LSU's...only significantly larger) and leave on his own, but I don't see anybody sh*tcanning him in Tuscaloosa.

Saban is as demanding of his coaches as he is of his players. Most adult men won't put up with that for very long.

Please tell me it won't be as bad as the year lsu had after losing Flynn and pelini? I don't know if I can stomach going 3 & 5 in the SEC.

Sorry for being late to the party but RIGHT....

FWIW bammer wont suck. I don't think the stars line up again this year but who knows. As in most runs you need some things to go your way and typically it doesn't happen every year.

I know every has some source but I rarely if ever say something like this. I do know a former $aban player and employee. The employee viewed things much worse than the player. Not saying the is shite just that he's apparently insufferable. Just look at the Skip quotes about him.

Based on what? One National Championship in which LSU needed a whole lot of luck to even get the chance to play ?

Saban's hype in the media is not = reality.

For the same reason Stoops and Carroll can't keep coaches. Winning causes a high turnover rate in assistants and players (NFL). Applewhite, Steele, and Thompson all left for promotions or raises. That probably had a lot to do with it as well.

I know it is hard for LSU fans to give credit to Saban, but you know as well as I do that he has molded some of the best assistants in the game and he will continue to do so. Those assistants will be bought off and he will find another one.

You will see that Saban is an A-Hole to players, coaches, and fans.

He can recruit, he can coach up a defense and he's a proven winner.

Saying the 2003 Tigers backed into the BCS CG doesn't take away the fact that they were a very skilled and well coached team...most definitely one of the top two teams in the country after the regular season. I give two sh*ts that several games had to break their way in the final week of the season to make it to the game...that just speaks to the f'd up state of the BCS at the time. How many points did we lose by beating Georgia a second time in the SEC CG??

And yeah, the 2003 Tigers were 75 percent defense and 25 percent offense, but that was enough. And Nick Saban was their coach.
