Pretty much proves that rankings don't mean shite most of the time. If so, Texas and Fla State would be in the middle of a 20 year dynasty. It also means that stars are assigned most of the time by which schools are recruiting a player, not necessarily (and completely) by how good that player is. Bobby wasn't that good of a recruiter obviously, but what i did like about our recruiting during his tenure was that were were going into places in the east and west that we have never been before.

really? you might want to check out the teams that have won the NC the last 10-12 years....EVERY SINGLE team traditionally pulls down classes in the top 10.

Not all teams that recruit well go on to win championships....that is true, but, there are no teams that don't recruit well that go on to win national championships....at least in the BCS era. That is something that some of you arkansas fans just can't come to grips with.......if I'm wrong....prove it.

You pigs are so Agsessed. How can a discussion started by an Alabama fan talking about Arky end up being about DADDY? Arky needs to change from the Razorbacks to the Trollbacks.

This would make sense if only the flaming wasn't started by an A&M fan first.

Personally, I prefer posting pictures of my team's incredibly super awesome new facilities.

Not that I disagree with your main point.

Just saying I live for fap threads where we can crow about how rich we are and our new cribs. Gotta throw that shite in the old rich's face.

Oregon only 1 top 10 finish since 2002 according to Rivals.

More of this for the Aggies as history shows.

You're saying Oregon doesn't recruit well?

Well, per this they outrecruited Arkansas over the last decade:
LINK

And they've had 1 top 10 class vs. 0 for Arkansas.
And to be fair, A&M has had 2 top 10 classes.

Results:
51.4% winning pct for A&M
68.4% winning pct for Oregon
59.6% winning pct for Arkansas

ETA: I know there was another thread today slamming UGA. They could have used these stats to make a better argument:

quote:

2. GEORGIA
Total points: 61
Coach: Mark Richt
High: 3rd (2002)
Low: 10th (2005)
Top 10s: 10
On-field winning percentage, 2002-10: 74.6 (tied for 10th)

Only team in the top 10 (recruiting wise) over the last decade not to play for a national title in the last 20 years (I'm being generous to Michigan).

But I would say A&M is extremely underperforming based on this data. The ROI on their recruiting in terms of winning pct flat out sucks. UGA is getting a lot of wins, just not wins when they need them to get to the next level.

Oregon shows you don't need a routine top 10 classes according to all the experts on here to get to the title game.

They are 45 mins from Houston for crying out loud that is awful. Florida State doesn't seem to have a problem.

Heck, put the University of Arkansas in Texarkana, Arkansas and we win multiple SEC titles. How do y'all not get this is why it's so fun to make fun of the Aggies especially when we dominate them?

Well, getting there is one thing.

Winning it is quite another.

I'll concede the point about getting to the title game though. Though I didn't make the statement in the first place. Just presenting some more context and actual numbers.

V-Tech doesn't seem to have a problem with worse classes than Arkansas over that decade you posted. However, I'd rather have their winning percentage ranking 8th than having a better recruiting class on paper.

Reality.

It's OU business model in a better location. You would be on the border of Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana. Stones through from talent everywhere. Something TAMU just can't seem to handle.

The door to the ACC or the Big East is always open.

No exit fee to flee the SEC.

And remember, just like Oregon, VT's recruits couldn't win the natty when they got there. At least Oregon kept it close. VT got smoked by FSU.

And they are 1-5 in BCS bowl games.

I think the biggest thing I've seen over the last 4 years is the measurables that we are recruiting on the hill...Outside of LB we've done a good job of bringing in bigger and faster players to compete in the SEC. Does that go hand in hand with star rating? Not all the time...

It's not to hard to look at the caliber of player OM brought in under Nutt...Yes, he got a couple instate stud athletes, but for the most part he was bringin in smaller guys that could run...Doesn't work in this league and he proved the same thing in 10 years at Arky.

I doubt we'll ever have top 10 classes and I'm fine with that as long as we finish the football season ranked higher than our recruiting class...Which has happend the last 3 years

They DO NOT lack talent but the coaching is sub par compared to the SEC. The NFL rankings shows the ACC represented well right along with the SEC.

I'd bet the farm if Arkansas had the luxury of OU's stone throw to Texas. If Arkansas had the luxury of that proximity to both Texas and Louisiana I'll double my bet.

In football don't forget TCU > aggy.

as of late Houston>aggy
and Baylor>aggy.

But somehow the 4th best team in Texas will come into the SEC and own it. This is the aggy right for all the years of being Bevo's bitch.

We now have, not only a team who has never lost a tailgate but one who has never lost a halftime.

Fort Worth > College Station. Isn't much debate and with a new stadium... If I was OSU I would be pissed Arkansas is now back in Texas and TCU can and should replace OSU.
