Why can’t Alabama’s NIL compete?

Apparently while every other university on the planet earth built an entire NIL function, Alabama was still offering dodge chargers and $500 cash envelopes.
This broke arse university plays basketball in a refurbished airplane hangar and can’t outspend the tobacco lawyers from bumfrick Mississippi for 4 star receivers.
Did the athletic director actually get behind a podium and let loose a stream of crocodile tears because he knows the entire house of cards has already collapsed?
You actually could not have scripted this timeline any better. The actual second Saban left the entire thing crumbled. Good riddance.

I wasn’t expecting a patty melt for dinner but I’ll take it

They can compete, they simply can’t monopolize talent like they used to when they paid better than anyone under the table. They also can’t stash 4 and 5 stars for their entire career because they’d have to sit out a year if they transferred.
The dynasty is long gone and it’ll never return.

They do.
#2 class and the most talented team 3 years into the NIL.

The Supreme Court ruling and transfer portal ensures that it is over.

So Greggie boy is a liar? Begging Phyllis from Mulga for a few dollars out of her EBT?

It won’t be a top 3 class without Ty Haywood.

False.
The only difference is 15 years ago you all cried about when players transferred out to make room for new players. OMG, Saban is so mean, he's processing players. He must be stopped, we need to add in more rules to prevent it.
Now the same things happen and people claim it's because Alabama can't keep them.
Weird how somethings don't change, but the narrative does.
Meanwhile, Alabama still bringing in top classes etc.

No, you're just too retarded to recognize an AD doing his job and will probably sit around later wondering why your real school can't keep up with NIL.
If your AD isn't trying to increase revenue and donations, what the frick are they doing?
Posted on 12/18/24 at 5:13 pm to AnchorDownTho
I'm sure they can. But not a single AD will say they have enough any more. Everyone needs more!! Because when average portal prospects are asking for their whole family to be taken care of this all gets way more expensive. I'm about done with college sports. Before it was donating money for tickets, now they expect working me to pay for an 18 year olds new G Wagon. No thanks

Parity is the new norm...Bama's best hope for future is to get a soft conference schedule like Texas got this year. Of course, greasing the refs won't hurt either...

Are you telling me that 6 nattys in 11 years won’t ever be duplicated again!?

You can sit around and believe Alabama is broke if it makes you feel better.
There are lots of retarded people out there living kick arse lives. Your choice to be miserable remains a mystery.

Perhaps, but at least we got to experience it. You never have and never will.

It won't be for the reasons people list.
It'll be because it's basically impossible to keep and develop talent the way it was. I look at the recruiting and all that and I see the same Alabama as always. I think people just assume Alabama is getting less talent, but that's not the case.
I look at what's on the field and I see a bunch of poorly developed entitled players who lack heart. You can see the raw talent flash from time to time, but they are not the elite developed players of the past.
And it didn't start this year.
NIL may have made it near impossible for anyone to do these things.

Thanks William, I had not seen that. I had only seen this footage of TideSaint when he heard about Alabama’s actual bowl game nod:
