exactly. one of the main reasons we got to play in the NC in '07 was because of the beatdown we put on Virginia Tech. voters remember that stuff and we jumped all the way up to #2 after the SECCG....ahead of #3 VT

I really don't see LSU dropping past 2 assuming they lose a close one to Arkansas . I think Bama would end up #1 in the BCS because they'd get most of the #1 votes in the human polls while LSU would get most of the computer polls over everyone else. Okie State would take a bit of a hit because Arky would stay ahead of them in the human polls. I think at that point LSU would simply need to beat UGA in the title game to cement their spot against Alabama in the BCS Title game.

Margin of victory is one factor. The reasons listed in the OP should be more important than margin of victory, because a 1 point win and a 100 point win are both still just ONE win, and a 1 point loss or a 100 point loss are both still ONE loss.

although LSU is going to stomp a mudhole in arky anyways so this is all a moot point
