LSU, despite its current situation, played a pretty good game.

Yeah man, minus the penalties, dumb coaching decisions, turnovers, our safety getting flat footed, and atrocious QB play, we played pretty good

I don't believe Bama fans are the only fanbase that claims your reasons for a bad game

Then I could be wrong as usual

Proving everyone's opinion of gumps on this site to be true again and again. Impressive in so few posts, I'll give you that much.

Coach O not kicking the field goal on 4th and goal? Take the points and you are kicking a game tying field goal to send it to OT as time expires. I've only seen one LSU fan even mention it. He let the whole effort boil down to one 4th down call.

Fair question. I think on the post game shows I watched last night it was discussed. I think most were ok with the call, but there were some that wanted the FG to make it 20-17. It was like 6 minutes in the game and LSU (very surprisingly, very very surprisingly) had made Bama totally 1 dimensional (lowest I think LSU ever held a Saban Bama rushing offense, and LSU has had some bad azz defenses) and LSU was getting home with these different blitz packages which we hadn't seen much of all year (which fans were asking for all year).

So another tough physical close game between LSU and Bama in the Saban era there (surprisingly) but with most of them tilting Bama's way, which is why Miles is unemployed and Now O is heading to his Fishing and Shrimp camp on the Bayou and Saban to the College football HOF.

Edit to above: Coach O was asked that very same question by the LSU media last night as well, so again fair question to get a feel for what LSU fans that post here think.

28 point dogs seems to indicate that everyone thought you would play a lot worse.

Also, for the posters who believe bama only thinks they beat themselves, I haven't seen one LSU fan give credit to bama for all the things they did to win the game either.

It's always your coach or qb or the refs or maybe a rec conspiracy.

I think he made the right call to go for it..offense had struggled and there was no guarantee they would get that close again..gotta take the chance right there I think..easy to 2nd guess today..either way Lsu showed heart and guts last night with a depleted roster..they probably deserved to win the game

I realize you're mad because saban dangled the carrot and you thought you would win but let me rephrase where you can understand.

I’m not mad at all. I thought we would get obliterated, but instead only lost by 6 on the road to the #2 team. And held your team to 6 yds rushing. All great things

But by all means continue melting.

I’m really not sure that you understand what that phrase means. Oh congrats on learning how to quote someone.

The analytics overwhelmingly support the underdog going for the win in regulation. That’s why underdogs frequently go for two at the end of games instead of tying with an extra point. The longer the game goes on, the more it favors the better team

This is a very typical Bama fan question. You guys hate losing more than you love winning. Hence, to you it seems weird that fans of the losing team are not “upset.”

LSU fans expected to lose, which means that we have no problem taking risks. We’re not upset at all. Hell we’re proud of the way they played. IMO it was their best game of the year.

Are you serious? We were expecting a 35 point beat down. Being within six that late in the game was incredible.

No problem with the call. Even though we didn't make it, had Gumps backed up. If Price scores on that run, Bama is beat. We were the better team and thoroughly outplayed the Gumps with backups. Gump's fear moving forward is real.

It was a dumb call considering how much our QB was struggling between the 20s much less trying to convert from the 8 yard line. Add to that Bama's offense was exactly moving the ball well, there was WAY too much time left to make that call. I hated it at the time and believe that I said that I disagreed with it in the game thread.

If our qb was any good that’s a touchdown and we win the game

Thank you for the honest response.

I couldn't have said it better but that's what I was thinking. There is a time to make that call but with that much time left I thought it a bit premature.

I’m not upset but I was calling for the fg then and was saying it was going to bite us in the butt. I hate moral victories, but the fact that we lost by 6 points, I’m not really upset cause I was thinking Bama was going to cover.

What good does being upset do?

The man has already been fired.
