Playing Texas, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma every year will appreciably improve their ability to recruit in Texas. They’re going to take some lumps more than likely but this is recreating the dynamics they had in the SWC.

That seems to be against the idea of us being lumped into a B12 pod, which I am also against. If we must expand, I would like to lay Texas every year

I think, It would be absolutely stupid if we did not play Texas annually, regardless of pods. Mark my words, Texas and Arkansas will play every year either way. We aint scared. We just want to retain games with Ole miss and LSU. WE don't give a shite about Mizzou.

One random guy being upset doesn’t equal melting. Most of our fans that I’ve seen would welcome the opportunity to play Texas annually.

I haven't seen any Arkansas fans saying they don't want to play Texas.
Being in a pod with 3 Big12 schools (if pods happen) is bothering some people. Arkansas been in the SEC for 30 years. We are used to playing certain schools every year for the past generation. Some, like Ole Miss, we've played every season for the past 40-something seasons.
Aggies don't want to be in a "Big12 pod" because you're still desperate to feel like you belong here.

Aggies don’t want to be in the Big 12 pod because they don’t want to compete directly with Texas on paper like that. If we’ve learned anything in the last few days, it’s that A&M’s claim that they aren’t scared of competing against Texas is 100% false.

I attended Arkansas in the late 1990s. I'm in my early 40s.
In my Razorback fandom, I'm far more connected to games versus South Carolina, Tennessee, and all of the SEC West schools than I am with A&M, or Texas or anything that happened in the Big 12. We were never in that league.
We've never been in a conference with OU. We've shared a conference with Missouri the exact same length of time as every other SEC school has.
A&M is the only SEC school who had been in a conference with Mizzou before they joined the SEC.
There isn't any history with anyone there other than Texas, and for most living Arkansas fans, it is stuff that happened back when we were too young to care, or before we were born.

Ideal pod to me would be
Ark
Texas
A&M
LSU or Ole Miss-- LSU would be more fun but Ole Miss balances out the schedule better
That won't happen because OU would have to be put somewhere that wouldn't make sense, and I'm assuming the Ags would throw a fit.

You realize Arkansas has actually scheduled Texas multiple times since leaving them high and dry in the SWC, right?
Meanwhile, Aggies have been bleeding all over this board for the past 4-5 days and begging everyone else to be upset as well.

Arkansas actively schedules Texas - and beats them.
At the end of the day, look, we’re sorry your feelings were upset in that the SEC didn’t even bother to include aggy in its discussions. I know it was embarrassing. Let us know how the A&M Board of Regents meeting and your pursuits to sue and/or leave the SEC goes.
