Why all the Georgia hype?

74% of the journalists present at Media Days put them in the SECCG. Compare that to AU's 48% and Bama's 41%.
After Bama and AU, more voters picked them to win the SEC than every other team combined.
This despite the fact that the Dawgs have to face both the Tide and the Tigers during the regular season.
Despite a consistent influx of top talent (13 top 10 classes in the past 15 years), Richt has gotten UGa to the SECCG only twice in the past 9 seasons, and hasn't won it since DJ Shockley was his QB. What makes them one of the top 3 teams to beat in 2015?

Because AU/UA are both really solid picks to win their division. Hence the fact that they basically split the vote. It's not like that in the east. Sure there are other contenders, but it's not a dead heat like in the west. So that answers that question.

Well, it goes back to point #1. Bama and AU both look pretty legit, so they got the majority of the votes. It's not logical to pick yet a third west team as the 3rd favorite, since it will be far tougher for any other west team to even be in atlanta wiht au/ua in the division. So after the 2 front runners, the best choice for 3rd pick woudl be whoever wins the east, which is georgia.

I wonder why you stopped at 9 seasons? Why not say he's been 2 times in the last 4 years? Or 5 times in the last 13?

good OL, best RB in the league, extremely solid defense and special teams. Really all we noticably lack on a paper is a QB (which yeah, is obviously a big deal) and some proven DL talent. Other than that...why shouldn't we be picked where we are? I mean, being picked 3rd in the conference isn't really all THAT tremendous of an honor.
