False.

1997 U.S. News and World Report.

A&M - 48
t.u. - Unranked

2002 U.S. News and World Report. Both schools tied.

Proof.

Wow. I stand corrected. Ranked above once and tied once in what over 100 years! You sure are proud of that piss poor record!
Talk about getting OWNED by UT!

This thread needs an anchor.

The horns and horn wannabes are doing exactly what they do each time they’re lucky enough to stumble upon a UTex/A&M thread on this website: salivating on their phones/devices as they frantically hit the keys..

Is incredible how Aggies could care less about them but they need 100’s of accounts here to obsess over Aggie 24/7

Read the link again.

t.u. didn't crack the top 50 until 2002. US News didn't publish beyond top 50 until 2004.

At no time when I was at A&M did t.u. ever outrank us.

In fact, the staff at Texas Monthly went into a full blown panic when the 1997 results were released.

Question?

Who has bragging rights if UT and aTm never play each other again in football?

Some better and clearer info on the beginnings of A&M and UT-Austin.

quote:

The Legislature finally provided for the establishment of a land-grant college in April 1871....In 1875, the Legislature separated the administrations of A&M and the University of Texas, which still existed only on paper. The Agricultural and Mechanical College formally opened on Oct. 4, 1876.

quote:

Finally, on March 30, 1881, the Legislature passed a law providing for the organization of the University of Texas....The university formally opened on Sept. 15, 1883, with a ceremony in the unfinished west wing of the main building.

Sarge- serious question here. The first claim is false (even if you don’t agree to the fact that we predate you- Baylor was formed well before you), the second claim is true (you’re the biggest... weeeeee), I am wondering how you determine “most prestigious.”

In what way is aggy more prestigious? Your school is a diploma mill. We outrank you in literally every area of study. We own you in every major sport record.

Just curious how you determine “prestigious.”

1. Private schools are not flagship anything.

2. 1876 comes before 1883.

Your entire rebuttal has been overturned.

No one that isn’t a liberal arts major thinks Austin offers a better option for education and financial future

My daughter graduated with honors from UT and UT Southwesten medical school. UTSW is a highly regarded med school - not so much the aTm med school. I guess her UT inferior education didn’t hold her back too much.
In my professional school class 4 decades ago there was exactly one aTm grad out of 142 students. Multiple UT grads, Tech grads, even a few UNT grads. And we were a top rated program back then.
