I'd take the balance of UGA 2022 over LSU 2019. LSU's offense in 2019 was incredible, but the defense wasn't that great. The offense covered it up.
People say this because they only remember the regular season but if you look at when it really mattered, versus the best teams, the 2019 LSU defense was fine.
Points Per Game Allowed in SECCG and CFP
2019 LSU - 21
2022 Georgia - 26

Seccg halftime score:
2022: 35-10
2019: 17-3
2022: 35-10
2019: 17-3

Your point?

Imagine if that lsu team had to face a much better offense. That 17-3 lead could have easily been a 24-17 deficit.

I think the 2019 LSU team faced tougher opponents, better QBs and still blew everyone out…
I think both GA national champs were very good but not on the same level as LSU 2019…
GA ‘s teams feed off the success of their defense and that is what gets their Offense going, good field position etc…if their defense was getting handled, I think it would ultimately hurt their Offense…and Joe and company would have hurt their defense.

Where did you come up with this idea?

Imagine if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle.
We can woulda, coulda, shoulda all day but the facts remain, the 2019 LSU defense was pretty solid when it mattered most.

I meant in the last few games

The 2019 first half doesn’t align with this spin. To only be winning by 14 against THAT uga team…….

Now you're moving the goalposts, the conversation was about LSU's defense supposedly being bad when 2019 LSU's defense was actually pretty solid when it mattered most.

The 2029 lsu D was the worst group of the teams in question. Doesn’t mean it was bad, but probably not good enough to beat a loaded uga offense.

Maybe.
But they did allow fewer PPG in the SECCG and playoffs than 2022 Georgia.

Got to give the Self destructive offense more credit for self destructing than to LSU. Our 21/22 O’s were much better than that one.

I mean we can take the SECCG out and look at CFP only and it's still pretty close.
2019 LSU: 26.5
2022 Georgia: 24

The last 4 games or so LSU did seem to turn it up a notch...which is what great teams do.

This can be a bit misleading, though. For instance:
PPG Scored in SECCG and CFBP
2019 LSU-47.3
2022 Georgia- 52.3
It flips the script a bit. Sometimes who you play matters more than score/defense output.
Small sample sizes can skew results. I don't think Georgia's offense wass necessarily better than LSU's but I also don't think LSU's defense was better than Georgia's defense....at any point.
Any way you slice it, both teams were outstanding and would have played a great game against each other. Throw in 2020 Alabama and we could have a nice little round robin.
ETA
FTR, I wouldn't call the 2019 LSU defense bad. Just not up to the offenses standards? (Guessing and spitballing) The two teams were almost mirror images with each other. I do tend to give Georgia's offense an advantage over LSU's defense but that could just be a homer coming out in me.

This isn’t even a debate so why argue. Both Georgias Mary teams don’t even rank in the top 10. Last year they should have not even made it to the finals. Ohio State makes that field goal and UGA doesn’t even make the final game.
2019 LSU will never be touched
2019 LSU will never be touched
