My guess would be the same reason Ohio State could not beat Michigan last year?

I think all of that is the point many of us are making. You can't just take one game result and say "well team X beat team Y so that team is good or that conference is bad"

FSU is not a good football team, but they waxed the number 4 team in the country early in the year. Texas is a good/not great football team and OSU "only" beat them by 7. Texas A&M only beat Arkansas by 3 but we have people on this forum saying they should be the #1 team in the country because they beat up on LSU.

It's a circular argument that 1) will never end and 2) makes the networks billions of dollars with fans arguing about it

I think Kirby and DeBoer would manage the co-coaching of this game better than Day-Cig.

I only care about Ohio State and the playoffs, not the BIG or SEC bottom feeders.

OSU- Bama would be the championship game out of that scenario

That I can agree with. I think all the 4 coaches are control freaks, but at least DeBoer and Kirby can split offense/defense

Cig/Day are both offensive guys and won't take a back seat. I do think Patricia could be great as DC for that team of course

Kind of surprised he isn't coming up in the coaching search news.

Because the B1(8)G games suck and get killed in the regular season ratings week in week out vs SEC (unless playing a SEC team). Your conference is so uncompetitive the highest bidder was FOX for the NOON timeslot.

Suck it, chode.

And I agree with this sentiment. However, you have to also agree that a schedule does affect how a team is perceived. The B1G has pretty much always backloaded their schedules, putting the toughest games at the back of the schedule. Why? To give their teams a chance to build a very good resume and pile on a lot of wins before facing tougher competition. I won't criticize that reasoning and methodology, as if it works then why not?
But yo also can't argue that the best B1G ten teams are as good as everyone else until it is a proven fact against tougher teams.

Ohio State did that last year when they won the title, but questions at this point of the season will persist until some tougher games are played earlier in the season. (Yes, I am aware that Ohio State did pretty well earlier this year with a game against Texas, so kudos for that)

I think the stink is still there for another year or two. I think he has adapted at OSU incredibly, but how many places have 3 complete freaks on defense like Styles, Reese and Downs that you can have play 3-4 positions each and do them all well?

He could potentially recruit those guys at UF/LSU/PSU type schools, but he hasn't been in college for 2 decades before this year. The defensive players do seem to like him a lot more than Knowles though

You're a mental midget so ill spell it out for you

Your conference is stacked to the brim with dogshit teams that make you have happy feels upon beating you get delusions of grandeur. Ryan Day may frick around again and make it 5th in a row to Michigan this year. One of my favorite things to do is hit elevenwarriors forum after those previous 4 Ls to see the FIRE RYAN DAY threads. Its fantastic.

"Ohio State is the best*!!!!"

*at beating dogshit teams.

Teams that can't beat Michigan themselves should not bring up not beating Michigan.

Your unsure because you are a Ohio State fan and do not have a lot of experience watching college football. Anyone who has ever watched much college football knows that a bunch of 20 year old prima donnas will buy into how good they are and how bad another group of 20 year olds are and frick around and find out the difference isn't enough where showing up is enough to win. You may have seen every minute of every Ohio State game since you slid down your mama's vagina but you still ain't much college football, you have watched a lot of high performing high school football....

I coulda added a bunch of rude adjectives to describe the vagina of this person's mama but I thought better of doing so because insulting him and Ohio State is sufficient lest he decide to come back with some sort of misguided mid-west buffoonery and then the gloves are off....

I think there’s too many things that have to fall in place for a team to go back to back. UGA is probably the last team you see do that for decades. It’s a lot tougher to run through the playoffs with 12 teams

While I would normally would agree. This Ohio State team feels unbeatable.
