I was quoting ESPN, who confused McKiniley's brother with Gerald. The Sports Leader info is poor.

Hope it was good last year, Texas will punish you at home and in playoffs this year.

I get it, the national media hates LSU for some retarded reason but if LSU hits this year, the payoff will be massive

I've seen some national guys pick LSU. Not many for sure, but some. For the reasons you mentioned.

Mostly what I've seen is Texas, because of perceived roster and program momentum, plus Manning hype, Georgia, because talent and Kirby Smart, and Alabama, because of perceived roster talent plus they're Alabama.

But I'd say LSU has been the clear #4 in that group. Nussmeier and the transfer portal are two big reasons.

I mean both Georgia and Texas have built up considerable prestige over the last few years relative to team success and quantity of top NFL draft picks to rival if not eclipse Alabama from that brand recognition and respect standpoint

LSU’s basically a notch below the 3 aforementioned but always in the mix due to their brand, offensive (and defensive at times) playmaking, and NFL draft output over the years

LSU football will enter the 2024 season with a roster budget set between $14 million and $17 million, head coach Brian Kelly told Yahoo Sports' Ross Dellenger.

quote:

By comparison, LSU had spent $11 million on NIL in the previous three seasons, $5.5 million of it just last year.

The following is behind a paywall but published by Wilson Alexander, Tiger beat writer with boots on the ground in BR, I respect Ross' reporting as well because he also knows the program great

spent $5.5 million on the 2024 roster

quote:

Matt Moscona reported on his “Locked on LSU” podcast that LSU only spent $5.5 million in NIL for 2024.

Per Scone, another BR journalist with boots on ground in BR

The piece de resistance from Ross Dellenger himself

LINK

quote:

LSU’s collective spent roughly $12 million on its football roster over the last three seasons — combined. For comparison’s sake, the Ole Miss collective spent about $13 million on its roster — last season.

quote:

The $13 million is more than the collective distributed the past three football rosters combined: $5.5 million last year, about $4 million in 2023 and $2 million in 2022.

What are you talking about? I just debunked his narrative in a reply with sourced articles from journalists which cover LSU including the author of the article you claimed was a kill shot for me

You took 18 transfers which means your roster sucked and hired guns from the portal are hit and miss. You guys could do anything this year.

I characterize it more as sensing a window of opportunity, adapting to the present college football context, and pushing all your chips to the middle of the table and increasing depth.

Texas and Georgia, hell even Michigan are more valuable brands than Alabama per The Athletic’s projected valuations

also you included Ohio State in the mix who spent $20 million in the portal to build their 2024 title team lmaooooo

OSU spent $20M on their entire roster, not just portal pickups.

You really thought OSU spent $20M on K State's backup QB, Bama's back up center, Quinshon judkins and Caleb downs, lmao?

Arnold has talent. He just got served a shite sandwich with a crackhead OC, no OL and 3rd and 4th stringer WRs. Auburn has some horses at WR. Seemed like every dude that caught a ball looked like Terrel Owens.
