Why will he be a candidate for the heisman? Because he’s a number 1 recruit who sat for 2 years in the same system. He got more time to develop and learn than your average recruit gets, let alone one so talented. He has already been eased into being the starter (when Quinn was hurt) and looked amazing.

When he played he looked great for the most part. His first start was a little shakey, and his series against UGA wasn’t great. That’s it. Other than that he was lights out.

Now you are starting to get it. Making a legitimate argument instead of just shite posting.

To your argument I would say Archie started 2 games last year (ULM and Miss St) and played in 8 others. For the season, he racked up less than a 1000 yds passing and just over 100 yards rushing, one of which went 67 yards amounting to well over half of his rushing yards. In two of those games he actually had negative rushing yards. Overall he completes about 2/3 of his passes but that drops to about 50% against really good competition. His last two games that he actually threw the ball, he was only completing half of his passes.

He started against ULM and State. State did not win a single SEC game last season and ULM went 5-7 in the Sunbelt. Not exactly a powerhouse football conference.

These are not exactly stats that will impress the Heisman committee. They will look at his stats and not how "amazing" his fans think he is.

So I stick by my earlier statement

“He’s done nothing to date”

Dunno who will win it, but I wouldn't trade LaNorris Sellers for anyone mentioned in this thread.

I’m not a South Carolina fan, but I think I agree with this. Redshirt freshman year, he had 65.6% completion rate, 2534 passing yards, 18 TDS, 7 INTs, 674 yds rushing on 116 carries … and missed what, a game and half to injury. That is fantastic for a freshman, and his QBR was much better the second half of the season as he gained experience. He could make big strides as a year two starter.

This throw alone is better than 99.9% of throws completed in CFB last year.

That 67 yard run you spoke of… that and his arm strength is what gives people Heisman expectations. I’m sure you saw him carry A&Ms defense into the endzone.

It’s not about what his stats were this season(as a backup), it’s about what he will be next season.

I think Nuss is easily a top 3 QB in the SEC but there’s zero chance he wins the Heisman.

I could post some cool videos of our qb at Arkansas that would equal or pass those against better competition but he gets no Heisman mentions. But his last name isn’t manning either.

Watch Taylen Green from Arkansas. That kid can do it all.

What's holding him back, is Arkansas' defense can't keep him on the field long enough.

Nuss should spend the entire offseason practicing when to run.

If Arch Manning is the QB all the hype says he is, he would not have been riding the pine for the last 2 years.
