Who will have a bigger season stats-wise between Hurts and White?

I go with White.

He has experience and fits Gus's offense well, but he could be forced into a lot of poor situations with an Auburn offensive line that doesn't stack up well against most competition.

Hurts... I am skeptical of since he's obviously a freshman. He doesn't fit the mold of a typical Alabama QB either, but we will see how that pans out. The fact that he probably has the best OL to protect him, he may be able to avoid forcing too many mistakes.

Who do you think will have a better season statistically? Not counting wins and losses.

Not even sure if or how much Hurts will play.

Did I miss something? Hurts has been named the starter?

I would guess the starter.

He's expected to be. Of course if he comes out flat, then in comes Barnett.

Doesn't seem so

I'll go with the guy that has actually been named a starter

Not unless you count that shitty Touchdown Alabama website and their falsified sources and stories.

First and most importantly Hurts might or might not be the starter.

Second of all

Neither did Sims but he smashed the school records. Bama doesn't have a Cooper but overall the WR corps is a lot deeper and talented. Also much better than AU's but once again he might not start.

Yeah. You have no idea. Rustled over starting a former Alabama walkon?

I can tell you with confidence that after the fall scrimmages, Barnett is option #3. I'll leave it at that.

As far as the OP's question goes, it's almost a trick question. White will have better stats because he will be asked to do more in Auburn's scheme. As long as he stays healthy and isn't benched, he might play more than Hurts too. Everyone expects Hurts to play, myself included, but he's not been guaranteed a single play. At least White has been named the starter. All things being equal, I'm much more happy with Hurts being my QB than White but all things aren't equal. Numbers aside, if Hurts plays as much as I think he will, I think if you look back on this question in November, you will think it was a silly one. Hurts will have a much more promising season than White.

You need some new sources.

the recent qb whos game his is most similar to hurts is blake sims, who holds like all the bama qb records, only hurts is much more of a true passer than blake, is not bouncing around positions. If you recall we won the sec with blake. Hurts is by all accounts a quick study, has no problem with the playbook (is a coaches son), and in game situations is making fewer and less costly mistakes than our redshirt junior qb (and hurts has much better arm strength, accuracy on long passes, and running ability). Kiffin knows how to ease a qb in with playcalling, and the supporting cast on offense around the qb is insane this year. There is no team in the country with the players to cover ridley, stewart, foster/dieter, and oj howard at the same time while also trying to account for a true running threat at qb. Plus our defense is going to be a huge strength again.
