I doubt it but I don't see them doing much more than they did last season. What do you think?

Not this piggie...

I don't think they'll do any worse than last year and perhaps better.

Well...Isn't that ya'lls whole theory in that you have better talent? Typically, when a back is labeled the #1 back in the country by one recruiting site, you gotta say he's most likely on the elite level..

You can't have it both ways

The same way Auburn is always "more talented" than Arkansas.

I think we will be better this year due to Auburn not losing anyone of any real importance, outside of Phillip Lutz and Emory Blake. Auburn basically returned all of their starters on offense and defense (outside of Corey Lemonier). And with that, we have an easier schedule, and a major coaching upgrade with players that are already prepared to play in Gus Malzahn's offense AGAIN.

Hardly ever are players considered elite college players straight out of high school. Sammy Watkins is one that comes to mind, but there haven't been a whole lot. And what are the odds of Alex Collins becoming an elite running back as a true freshman behind that Arkansas offensive line? t's no secret that they have struggled mightily in the past couple years.

Here's my reasoning behind Arkansas not being good this season:

1) Arkansas lost Tyler Wilson, Chris Gragg, Cobi Hamilton, Knile Davis, Dennis Johnson, etc, on offense. Nobody will be better than them at any given position. I don't care what you say. And as bad as Arkansas' offense was last year, they gave it a glimmer of hope. They were the reason you won 4 games.

2) Arkansas is transitioning to a power based rush offense with a pretty bad offensive line, new running backs, no threat at receiver, and a complete unknown at quarterback (the only think we know about Brandon Allen is his name).

3) Arkansas' schedule sucks. It's rough. And it'll be a tough first year under Bret Beilema.

Arkansas has been coached better, without a doubt, since the year 2008 (save 2010, maybe). Even last year.

Coaching conquers talent any day of the week, and that's all Auburn had going for them (talent). All of that talent consisted of a lack of discipline, lack of toughness, and lack of attention to detail.

TTsTowel points have been the best I've read in this post. It will be interesting to see the first few games for each team.

What about your terrible defensive players? Whose system were those guys recruited for?

That's a mystery nobody has been able to solve since 2009.

Although, when Ellis Johnson arrived in Auburn, he said that this Auburn defense was more talented than the one at South Carolina when he took that defense over. He also increased that defense's production in the very first year, and turned it around with ease. Auburn has the horses, we just needed a buggy to direct them.

Auburn has more talent but do they have a QB? I know the cat from UGA what's his nuts is very athletic and has a decent arm but I've definitely given Arky the edge at QB for now.

Arky still probably has an average D but Auburn's D last year set records for being awful. Both have some very good running backs but average receivers.

These teams are very even but I'll say Arkansas wins one or two more games than Aubie because of a QB that played pretty well last year backing up Wilson.

42.9% completion percentage, 1 touchdown, 3 interceptions...

Auburn's second quarterback, which later become the starting quarterback, ended with much better stats than that.

I'm just trying to get you to admit that not everything about Auburn is great. You've done nothing but highlight Auburn's positives and Arkansas' negatives.

Newsflash, we've beat you handily two years in a row and the game is in Fayetteville. Malzahn has never won against Arkansas in this state and a fricking Willy Robinson defense beat him 3 times. You're not going to waltz into Fayetteville and win just because Kiehl Frazier was recruited for Malzahn's offense.

We have 4 quarterbacks right now so the answer to your question is no.

Hell no

I agree but it's going to be tough for Auburn as well. Best thing going for both teams is not having John L or Chizik around calling the shots. Auburn will probably finish 6-6. I said Auburn would finish with a better record than Arkansas but after reviewing the schedule, I think we'll both finish 6-6. And Arkansas will probably beat Auburn.

Who the hell told you that? If they do it again, kick them in the nuts

We are far from great. But from a recruiting standpoint, Auburn has recruited better than Arky over the past few years, hence the reason people are saying we have more "talent"

You are making a big deal out of something you know is true.

Arky has been coached better, other than 2010. But we have had more "raw talent"

If our coaching stacks up a little better this year, which most of us think it will, then you can see why most of us feel like we will be a game or two better than arky.

That and the horrific schedule you have

Well, ask me about Kiehl Frazier or Jake Holland.

Congrats, I didn't know that had any bearing on the 2013 season.

Forgive him.

He took a Auburn team coming off a 5-7 record there and lost in year 1, and a completely rebuilt Auburn team in 2011 and lost. He also kicked your arse in 2010, but nobody likes to acknowledge that.
quote:

No, that's where you just go full retard.

Look at how many points that were scored by Arkansas and Auburn in the games from 2009-2011. 44 in 2009, 43 in 2010, and 38 in 2011 by Arkansas. 23 in 2009, 65 in 2010, and 14 in 2011 by Auburn. Gus Malzahn's offense averaged 35 PPG in those 3 years. Bobby Petrino's offense just demolished whatever kind of defense Auburn trotted on the field. THAT is what lost the games, not Willy Robinson owning Gus Malzahn. That's just flat out retarded.

Oh, dear God. If only ANYONE ON THIS WEBSITE had used this for reasoning. You're really reaching.

On Auburn I always have felt Moseley just sucked arse and that Frazier was a bit better but I know several AU fans that felt the other way. And #12 what's his name? Sorry I'm rusty on the names right now because this feels like the longest fricking off-season ever but that #12 is a great runner and showed some touch at time with passing but he's gotta get better in the pocket and quit trying to run all the time.

That cat from UGA that played in juco looks good and I think he'll be the starter and I can see him running Malzhan's offense to a t.

But I like Beilima and since he's old school and defensive minded, I think that will help Arky just enough to where their won't be as much pressure on their offense to put up a lot of points.
