Stephon Gilmore.

Seriously, hard to argue with Mark Ingram or Trent Richardson.

AJ Green or Randall Cobb are probably the best all-around athletes.

We are talking about the best player in the SEC.

Neither of those 2 have never done shite in the SEC, and 1 doesn't even have a starting job locked up yet.

Pretty good list. I'd throw in AJ Green.

Seriously? He might not be in the top 5 on LSU's team.

You, my friend, are fricking retarded.

I agree on Rueben Randle. I wasn't going to tag him as the conference's best because he hasn't had the opportunity to produce like a Green or a Jones.

But I think he'll have a breakout year. By mid-season, we'll be talking about him in the same breath as Jones, Green, Childs, and Adams.

put the crack pipe down and step away

I'll go with either PP or MI depending on the season. If Bama is having a great yr again MI will get all the attention. If LSu is PP will get all the attention.

If we are talking about the best SEC football player, how can anyone say Mallett?

Are we talking about pro potential? You can have a case for Mallett if so.

Mallett's numbers sucked arse against good teams last year (albeit his receivers have Julio Jones-esque hands), and his leadership and character aren't exactly Tebow.

Best college player is Mark Ingram (heisman)... if you say anyone else is better than him in the SEC you are a complete ruhtard.

and we had no running game
pass blocking was suspect from RB and OL didn't show up in big games...

Mallett's performance should be judged by all moving parts in the offense...

Heisman huh...Can't really say it means "best" player

I'd put Mallett in top 5 somewhere but I'd give the top spot to AJ Green...IMO

i think it should be:

1. ingram (heisman)
2. Peterson
3. Mallett (best at the most important position)

FWIW, I think Green is the most "talented" player in the SEC.

Mallett's physical talent put him somewhere in the top 5 as well. As does PP.

But as far as being the best player and leading your team to wins and being productive goes, it's Ingram hands down. Think about how many times that clown moved the chains last year, TDs he scored, and big plays he broke off in big games.

To me, that's what makes a player "the best".

Jus sayin...
