Why would you make that jump if you are Rhule? He is their hero and in that league can go 7 wins every year and be a lifer making $ every year as Baylor fends off poachers.

At Arky he wouldn’t have enough time to win any more than Bert.

They could always try what Georgia Tech attempted by hiring Ken Niumatalolo. Paul Johnson had some good teams over his 10 years there including a couple of Orange Bowl teams and some with 9, 10 and 11 win seasons. The problem with PJ was he couldn’t recruit very well and had inconsistent defenses. With the triple option, Arkansas would never be winning SEC titles, but would keep opponents with quick scoring offenses off the field. Combine that with a good defense and they could consistently be at least be a 9 win team. It beats going 1-20 in SEC games.

I’ll admit I wasn’t a huge fan of it at GT, mainly because PJ could never recruit well enough to get to the next level. Some of that was PJ and some of it due to the lack of choices in majors to choose from at GT.
