LSU. That road win against Texas was the real deal.

Who is the better team? LSU or Auburn?

Last year everyone counted LSU out, and they surprised everyone except LSU fans. It was the same this year with Auburn. This is going to be a good game! I can't wait because this stretch of games we are on are boring. In this thought, it must really suck to be an Alabama fan to not have beat a ranked team.

Observations:

1) Auburn appears lucky so far this season, maybe gritty and persistent. LSU looks like it has half again more talent, consistency, and drive. JMHO.

2) It most assuredly does not suck to be a Bama fan. Greatest period in our football history.

As Clemson proved last year a great Dline can absolutely wreck a potent offense. Auburn has speed for days and LSU’s piss poor tackling can really hurt them in this game.

With that said Joe Burrow is on another level right now. I’ve tried to temper the hype slightly but he’s playing at the highest level of any QB in the country right now. We will need to get Jefferson and Marshall back at WR. Our front 7 is decimated by injuries right now as well.

Game is in BR. Nix is still a freshman. He was 12/20 100 yds and 1 TD vs A&M. Auburn hasn’t won in BR in 20 years. I’ll take LSU but Auburn is a much better team than I thought they’d be. I think they beat UGA.

I think in fairness to Bama fans they would prefer a marquee opponent in place of Duke. I think their team would also prefer to play a better opponent/s. True competitors want to see how they measure up.

LSU offense is easily the best in the SEC. AU, D arguably the same.

The other side of the ball is where things get interesting. Both are suspect. Neutral field, flip a coin. In BR, until AU shows they can win in BR, gotta give the nod to the corndogs.

That said, the game is played on the field and LSU is going to have their hands full.

Auburn looks more complete. I did not think much of them going into the season, but now have them as the game I'm most concerned about (after Bama, of course).

Not so fast my friend.

Our special teams have been solid. FG Kicking has been money. We scored 2 special teams TD's against Vandy.

I suspect Auburn special teams will cost them if they don't correct some things. I have noticed they completely bail out on punt coverage and turn their back to the punter before he kicks the ball. The A&M punter could have had a first down several times by tucking the ball and running.

LSU is 7 of 7 on FGs. Auburn is 5 of 6. LSU has nearly doubled Auburn in kick return average. Auburn has a slight edge on punt return average, but LSU has returned one for a TD and has a TD on punt coverage. LSU has a slight edge in punting average.

LSU’s special teams is very, very good.

Our offense was worse, too - defense was as well. That, and you got the gift of some pretty sweet PI calls (and no calls) that put you down the field.

Point is, both teams are different. Anyone asserting they know what's going to happen between these two teams is either an absolute homer or hasn't watched the series at all.
