Bama's done a better job developing offensive talent. That's going to change...with an actual offensive coordinator.

If Cameron has any type of decent success then he may not be your long term OC. This is the part LSU fans seem to miss. A guy who has been in the NFL the majority of his career - including briefly as a HC - will have opportunities to go back to the NFL if he is successful in Baton Rogue.

He may decide college is for him, though. My point is that he isn't a certainty to stay through his contract if your O is as successful as you are all convinced it will be.

He's a waste of a play when you can have Thomas or Sproles come in and double that?

You do realize that Ingram led the Saints in 20+ yard runs in 2012, right? He also led the Saints in carries resulting in 1st downs. He averaged a 20+ yard run every 39 carries. Thomas averaged 20+ yard run every 53 carries. Ingram averaged a 1st down gain every 5.5 carries. Thomas averaged picking up a 1st down every 6.5 carries.

He's not as bad as Saints fans think he is. If he played college ball at Michigan State you'd look at him more realistically, IMO.

But I thought y'all said he was in the wrong system?

Nailed that and I am about as pro-Bammer as they come. The Saints should have kept Ivory for way less money and need to trade Ingram. I think Ingram is the type of back that needs to get a lot of carries to get into his groove and the Saints will never feed him the ball like that. PT is going to be the primary back just because his production is still up there and DS is the
speed threat.

You have single handedly convinced me to never look at stats again. Because Ingram has done nothing positive for the Saints since he's been there, but those stats are awesome.

Here's my take on Ingram. He was a perfect college back. And even more perfect for Alabama. His combination of vision and cutting ability worked great in college. And his balance was awesome too. He's pretty slow, but just fast enough to utilize his talents. NFL defenses are just too damn fast and strong for him. He gets blown up before he even THINKS about making a move.

It's almost better to have a guy just see a hole and run like the police are chasing him through it for as long as you can. It takes a special player(AD) to do what Ingram did in college...in the NFL. Ingram gets too cute while being too slow and soft.

I mean, if Lacy went in the 3rd round or 7th round or if he was undrafted like the LSU RB's, his first day would have been incredible. As it was, he was left to a higher standard. At least he's getting paid well for it.

I think a lot of LSU fans are pointing out the Bama players lack of success for two reasons...

1. because they have to hear about how great they are from the media and this board for 3-4 years (while at bama) and it becomes rather nauseating.
LSU fans did the same thing while USC was in their prime.

2. they are a little jealous that Bama gets so much love...
When you actually look at who makes a roster and how they perform, LSU and Bama actually put out fairly comparable talent...but you really only hear about how great Bama is at developing talent.

That being said...LSU and Saints fans dislike Ingram because they gave up 2 first round picks for a guy that has looked better towel waiving at the Bama/LSU game then performed at the pro-level.
I for one heard on this board and the national media how great this guy was and then we get him and he just plain sucks...
Would he be better in a different system...yeah...because he can't get much worse.

Even the Saints announcer makes fun of him..."and there goes Ingram...who gets his one yard"

It's almost comical

Due to his relationship with Miles and the fact that after year one he gets paid over two million...you never know how long he will stay.

He also had NFL offers and chose to come to LSU to coach....

Been trying to remember the last time an LSU running back went in a top round? I wonder if Ford had gone to a different school if he'd have been a top round.

You're right, because with the rookie pay scale the only thing that matters is being a 1st rounder, who cares about actually being successful in the league. God I love some Gump logic.

Oh yeah, Ridley said whats up.

His backups playing time because he forgot how to hold a football.

Between the 4 RBs listed from Alabama and LSU I'd be willing to bet the group from Alabama makes twice as much as te guys from LSU. So by y'all's logic RBs can go to Alabama, win NCs, get drafted in or around the first round, not be very good, and make more money than LSU RBs.

Not a Bama player, but I have been very impressed with Reid playing for the 49ers. He was making plays left and right on Sunday.

Reid was a huge get for the 49ers. He's big and physical. Fits in pretty well with the 49ers defense. They look solid.

He was layin' the wood for sure

Still think his day was a little bit overrated. He happened to be in the right place for a tip. And his other INT was a free play where Rogers jus tossed one up. Impressive athleticism but nothing crazy. He did play more physical than I thought he did in college though.

TM7's FF was a thing of beauty though. It didnt get enough attention.

Really?

He was one of the most physical safeties in the game when he played

Was he really? I didn't think of him as very physical.
