Mac Jones? Or is the prognosis for Taulia to be ready to take over next year?

Tua Tagovailoa (0.01% chance) or Mac Jones (85% chance) or Taulia Tagovailoa (5% chance) or Bryce Young (10% chance)

Probably Mac Jones since Saban generally likes to reward seniority and guys who stick with the program.

Bryce Young has the potential to come in and make a strong push it seems, though.

Based on what? (not posturing here, just genuinely curious)

What, I'm curious.

Ideally it's another 7-5 season that doesn't totally put the program off the rails but still gives the board enough of a reason to send Herman packing.

Next Texas question. This is now a Texas Longhorns thread.

I would have been the first to tell you that the preseason Heisman talk about Ehlinger was nonsense. He's Tebow without the speed or long-ball arm. That said, notions of conflict between him and Herman, while true, are overstated if you think it's enough for him to leave. That's not happening.

Interesting, so do you think Taulia gets eclipsed? Could you see him transferring?

Slade Bolden getting more than 3 snaps a game as a wildcat QB would be the surest indicator that the QB room is on fire.

On average, I agree. I could see a game or 2 where he gets 5ish snaps/game though.

I think that way too many people are counting Taulia out.

I have to say that I was impressed with Mac Jones in the Iron Bowl. Yeah, he threw two costly interceptions, but one of those was not his fault - the defensive end got in his face and disrupted the timing; that's a TD otherwise. He proved he was tough and that he could run the offense efficiently. Too bad the defense and special teams didn't give him a little more help.
