Red Raiders have a former player now turned oil billionaire bank rolling their NIL

It’s more than one dude and it’s mostly O n G money but there are software players as well.
All that W Texas money that used to go to Dallas now stays in W Texas (Lubbock).
The Texas Tech AD is a very forward thinking guy, Sankey and several SEC schools (including LSU) have taken meetings with him and his revenue sharing model is what everyone is using.

SMU is a seasoned veteran at this, no surprise there.

Tech going to spend all this money to go 8-4 it’s in their blood.

9-3 would be huge there. Fun place to go to a game.

Paying 5 million for a OT is insane. Michigan spending 12 mil on underwood I get.

The money should honestly be spent on the lines instead of skill players

Having Campbell and Sellers be former players for Leach has to be huge in these NIL meetings. Money always triumphs but having that billionaire experience the trenches of football back when they weren't being paid like this probably say a lot to the current generation of athletes.

SMU folks are rich. I mean, like RICH rich. Guarantee they become a player in this lawless and deregulated hellscape that is modern college athletics.

I get the desire for a QB but I don't get the $12 million, there are zero guarantees when it comes to skill positions translating
Offensive Tackles, D Line, Corners, Quarterback is the most likely model for success

Not saying you are but you may very well be full of shite.
Aggies have #3 , Longhorns #12 , SMU #17, Texas Tech #24 Class as of now for 2026.
Texas Tech is insane to be allowing this stuff to become public, because they are guaranteed to have the other 4 starting OL pissed off and jealous.
Elko keeps a tight lid on the player pay data. I expect you can probably count on one hand the number of people who actually know the total amount Aggies are spending on paying football players, including the NIL.

Also not shabby for a first year SEC Head Coach.

I agree with one exception…qb. It’s the most important position in the game now.

I thought that was Texas A&M according to some LSU fans.

SMU is filthy rich. Took them a long time to overcome the death penalty for a variety of reasons but they can compete when it comes to money.
