You could have fooled me that Garcia had experience. Looked like a true freshman out there a lot of times.

Garcia was a hit or miss...He would have some great games then have some WTF games.
That was last year, this year he looked like he had no idea what was going on. AT ALL.

Only difference from last year to this year, is this year he wasn't allowed to drink. At all.

Maybe he needs to be drunk to play well....
So...Sober in real life =drunk on field and shiity play...
Drunk in real life=sober on the field and good play.

Obviously he had something going for him since he was starting over Shaw for a lot of that crap. That or Spurrier was really stubborn.

I would be shocked if Garcia never played a game with at least a buzz.

Helps calm the nerves. Slows the game down.

This is true.
Just looked at his rivals page. So must talent wasted. #80 overall recruit that year

Garcia's story reminds me of Quincey Carter. Pretty exciting as a freshman/early on but then sorta fizzled out. Musta been the weed/alcohol.
Back on topic.I think UGA matches up better. Playing better at the end of the year whereas I think USC stumbled to the finish line.

I think he may be referring to the Auburn loss.

At the start of October?

You can say we stumbled, because we lost to Arkansas on the road on Nov 5, but we won our last 3 games. Shaw was great in all 3 of them, so to say Garcia was a better QB or that Shaw is a downgrade is just crazy. Shaw is a far better running threat than Garcia was, a lot more accurate of a passer, but just not as tough or experienced. Losing Lattimore definitely hurt, as he was our best player, but I would still say this is a wash as to who would give LSU a better ballgame.

stumbled meaning lost a couple of key players and won some close games. but no, not the typical end of year USC collapse.in contrast to how we looked like crap against boise and shite the bed against you guys, but came together and won the last 10.

Whats with all these SECers saying if we had Garcia? I can understand Lattimore but Garcia? Really? Statistically speaking Garcia had improved from Freshman to Junior, so if he had stayed on pace maybe that would be true but outside of ECU he really didn't play that well. Even in wins.
What I have liked about Shaw is that not only has he seemed to improve after each game (ie actually learns from experience, something I swear Garcia had a tough time doing) is that even there would be games, UT, MSU, and even Arky where you may not be able to say he won you the game.. but you also sure as hell can not say he lost you the game. Something that could not be said for Garcia.
