Chaney (Tennessee OC) should be in the discussion. Greatly improved our O last year.

IMO McElwain is the 3rd best assistant on bama's staff. I would put Smart ahead of him and I think Pendry is the best assistant on the staff he has put out some amazing Olines.

Pendry at alabama is the best assistant in the conference right now.
Terry Price at Ole Miss is another fantastic assistant coach... McElwain and Malzahn are both very good.
UT's new DC, Wilcox, will be making a name for himself soon enough.

McElwain. way overrated...the little midget is too much of a control freak for me to believe that this guy has any free rein to do what he is given credit for doing.....

I'll throw Garrick McGee's name in the mix. He's the new offensive coordinator now that Paul Petrino is at Illinois. Great QB coach and recruiter (probably our only great recruiter on the offensive staff).

Joe Pendry is my choice for best assistant in the SEC. He took an offensive line in '07 that sucked balls and turned them into winners in '08 and '09.

since McElwain has been at bama they have went 26-2 with two of the most awful QBs I ever seen be multi-year starters. MC> Kirby who is a product of Saban.
My thoughts almost exactly...
I do think Kirby is good, but is always going to have to fend off the "its Saban's defense" comments as long as he's at Alabama.

Garrick McGee, OC at Arkansas. I wouldn't trade any Assistant Coach for him.

Houston Dale Nutt, Wait
I think Smart is up there.
On Malzahn, I think we will need to give it
a few years to see if he keep his offense ahead
of the defenses they play. He definately did
a good job this year.
