Davis needs more love in this thread.

Not saying he will be THE best(though that is my opinion by the end of the season) but he's definitely one of the best.

And any gamecock fan using the injury excuse for Davis, and at the same time saying he's better than Gurley, you're clueless.

Davis and Gurley are two of the best backs in the nation. Saying one is better than the other is splitting hairs. I'd say Gurley is a little more talented than MD28. Both will have to overcome their injury problems, Gurley more so.

From a raw talent standpoint Henry > any RB in the SEC.

Henry had two big plays against a defense that was gassed by the fourth qurarter. The pass play was a 10 yard pass and OK did not have a defender within 10 yards after he made a little cut. Remember this was against an OK defense that was run out of the stadium by TX.

Everything you said is true...but that doesn't really mean that the guy you're replying to is wrong. Talent and production are different animals. The fact is that this kid is a legitimate 6'3" 240 pounds and has run a laser 4.42 40 yard dash at that weight. That, and he has more rushing yards than anyone to ever play high school football. It's really not far fetched to say he's the "most talented" back in the country, if talented and athletically gifted are synonymous to you.

Through 8-9 games of the season, Davis led the SEC in rushing yds per gm, total offensive yds from scrimmage per gm (for all offensive positions), was tied for the lead in rushing tds, and was in top 2-3 in rushing yds per carry. He's a special RB indeed...

But Davis isn't a every-snap back for USC like Lattimore was. He never intended to be. He peels off huge gain runs and then needs a break. When Wilds went down early in the season for half the season, it put a huge burden on Davis to carry more of a load. IMO both Carson and Smith weren't utilized enough to give Davis more rest, and it wore down on him.

Wilds was almost ready to go towards the end, but Davis got too beat up and was shut down for the final 3-4 games. We need him healthier and fresher next season for the stretch run, because Dylan won't be able to tuck and run effectively like Shaw has been able to his entire career....

David Williams is going to bring the missing piece to the puzzle that will give us the running game to compliment our passing game next season.

The kid is a big time talent.

The Felix Jones of the country may be Jonathan Williams. If he got 20-25 carries a game...

Gurley won't break records or win the Heisman. RB has always been by committee under Richt, but I do see Gurley as a top 10 pick and probably number 1 overall RB taken. When he is 100% I believe he is the best RB in the country.

there is always a back or 2 that comes out of nowhere and have a great year. I think Tyner out of Oregon will put up good numbers. If Bama gives Henry the ball, he will put up monster numbers.

Gurley won't be a top 10 pick. The days of drafting a RB that high are officially over.

I agree in principle....

but in 2013 Gurley had half as many yards receiving as he did running.

97 yards on 7 receptions vs Nebraska, while hurt.

The NFL pays attention to that.

Gordon, Gurley, Davis

The Wisconsin people are saying Gordon got a clear cut first round projection as a RS sophomore and still decided to return. I think he's going to destroy people next year. Henry and Fournette are definitely two to keep an eye on, as is the kid at Zona.

Well from these stats J Hill is the best back? So I would have to say he's going to be the best again next year? Being how our Oline is coming back and will have LF to keep him fresh plus he will prob get 1/4 more carries next year! He didn't play the first 2 games folks. J Hill as of now

had a feeling about this guy every since I watched one of his HS games on ESPN and he was considering Alabama and went off that game ran for like 500 something yards and 6 something touchdowns. I don't remember his exact stats but they were insane lol. I was HOPING he chose Alabama and he ended up doing it.....I was super stoked. Kinda still am......nah mean?

Hill probably won't get monster numbers cuz of LF and Magee though.

This is absolutely on the money. I think Hill is the best back in the country but Mile's gives everybody carries. Hill will average something crazy like 8 or 9 yards a carry, he seems to always break a 40 or 50 yarder.
