This is a shite thread - full of all kids of shitty comebacks and rhetorical, nonsensical shite-filled questions and shite-stained logic.

Auburn's loss in the NCG was heartbreaking, but not program-threatening.

Wait, Alabama's loss to Auburn (a team that lost in the BCSCG) and 11-2 season was program threatening?
frick! I thought Alabama was going to continue to be really good.

No Socrates, I didn't say a G-DAMN thing about Alabama's losses being 'program threatening.'

The reason I worded it that way is that it seems like some of you DetergentHeads seem to think Auburn will go away now just because they lost the natty and their program will go on a decline (like LSU's has 'supposed' to do since Miles set foot in Baton Rouge.)
How I love torturing the mentally challenged....

Calm down, buddy. I thought you were insinuating that when comparing Auburn's loss and Alabama's loss (topic of the thread) Alabama's loss was somehow program-threatening. Many people have in fact suggested this. No need to get excited, simple misinterpretation I guess.

I certainly don't think Auburn's loss was all that bad. Getting to a NC game is pretty rare for any team so it does suck to get there and not get it done because even great programs don't know when things will work out to get another shot. But getting there and losing is certainly better than not getting there at all.

When you get as good as Alabama, LSU and Auburn (although they have been a little more up and down) have been these last few years the losses are always going to be huge because the stakes are usually so high (unlike many teams). It just comes with the territory. The insane reaction by some to Alabama going 11-2 this year is just an example of this.

The best post in this mess was by the guy that said the most hurtful losses were the ones where your team could have done something historic had they won while talking about USC/UT from '05.

I guess it all comes down to how you look at it.
