Why is that a trigger for LSU fans? Bring back fond memories.

This is the Florida/Tom Petty fan I always think of when I hear that song.

Sounded great. How is this triggering for any fan base? Just makes me want to listen to some Petty.

OP is triggered by LSU's lack of being triggered

My Lord, LSU seriously broke multiple fanbases in the SEC

Well shucks, I guess I was just imagining LSU fans critical of UF playing Petty's music at our events. Glad to hear I was mistaken and we can all enjoy this cool moment.

How was I triggered when I hadn't even responded to the lack of triggered people?

The only thing Tom Petty sucked was a bunch of blow up his nose.

RIP to one of the biggest LSU fans there ever was, Tom Petty.

I personally think he is overrated, but that is beside the point. It was a nice touch to the reception.

There he is. It's always the one throwing stones that is guilty. Hope your day is going well Mr. Carville.

I'm happy for Golden and the team, they were clearly the best team in basketball this past season but now the McMahon hire when Golden was also available for the taking is looking worse and worst in retrospect

The Florida/ Tom Petty thing is just...so random and weird. I love me some Tom Petty songs, and, while everyone has an expiration date I was sad to hear he passed away. But never in my life prior to the "Tom Petty Day" game against LSU had I ever heard of any connection between UF and Petty. Was he from Gainesville? Yes. Was he a UF fan? Apparently he was at least a casual one. Was he an alum, or did he get his start in the music business grinding the bar circuit around Gainesville? No.

To me it's like if UTenn discovered that Elvis was a casual Tenner fan, and decided to have an "Elvis Day" at Rocky Top, complete with a moment of silence so everyone could listen to "Ain't Nothin' But a Hound Dog" over the PA with a tear in their eye. If the game was against Florida, every Florida fan in there would act a fool even if they LIKE Elvis, because...what is this appropriation foolishness up in here?

Frankly it's kinda Aggie-level cringey. Yes this is coming from an LSU fan, but also someone that sings "Learning to Fly" at the top of my lungs (and vocal range) when I hear the song come on in the car. (but not on an airplane, cause I ain't got wings)

Sorry I was lumping you in with the rest of the LSU fans, and to them, I apologize.
